Against a Death Star, which isn't here.
Very different circumstances. Here, there's no superweapon to worry about, the goal is to hit Palpatine with a turbolaser. The problem will be the Empire's fleet and vastly superior resources.
Keep in mind they likely have many of the old Empire's secret codes, intelligence will be an open book.
Plus clone troopers are far superior to rebel troopers
Doesn't really matter, the rebels won't be fighting much of a ground war, they never fought simply to control planets with the Empire in their time, they merely fought delaying actions or conducted raids. And the rebellion does have some top-grade commandos.
and a venator class star destroyer is better then a crappy old MC cruiser
Hah, heck no. MC cruisers are bigger and tougher, matches for ISDs which are quite superior to Venators. Or in some cases like Home One, even stronger than ISDs.
Venators can only deal with MCs via number. Granted, they *have* the numbers, but still, numbers gotta be in the right place..
and the ARC-170 is better then an X wing, rebels have horrible weapons
An ARC-170 is a heavier multi-person craft, less maneuverable and less suited for space superiority.
An X-wing is less tough, but are faster, more maneuverable, and only require one crew as opposed to 3 to carry similar firepower (no rear-firing guns, but more forward firing ones).
An X-wing is literally a descendent of the ARC, a later relative. There is no space superiority fighter in the CW/early empire era that is it's equal. And an A-wing is even quicker still.
The Rebel equivalent to the ARC would be the B-Wing, btw, which has more firepower by a good margin.
Emperordmb
Without Luke, neither death star would've been destroyed.
They've got literally 19 years before the first one becomes operational and precise knowledge of their designs and where they're being built. They can either deal with them in early-early construction, or just focus on winning before that point.
