Logan (2017)

Yeah, me too... either Sunday or Saturday...

I hope it'll be worth it.

Well, the last X-men movie I saw in theaters was "The Last Stand" lol. So the bar is set low for me.

😂 Indeed it is.

The last one I saw - in the theater - was "The Wolverine"... (loosely) based on Wolverine's first mini-series, it desecrated its memory... sigh, "Logan" MUST be better or I'll snikt my eyes out.

At the very least, there'll be gore this time...

I bought "The Wolverine" on dvd from the dollar store lol.

While it was better than XMO, it was still a disgrace...

I hope "Logan" will be the closest to a good Wolverine movie...

Saw it and love it. While there are a lot of R-rated scenes, the whole theme was very smooth and filled with hope. I really think this movie somehow resembles Les Miserables in some ways.

Spoiler:

Logan-Jean Valjean

He once was an outcast, had many problems, but through others' help and his own goodness awaken, he became a great man and used his life to help/raise a girl.

The Mexican Nurse:Fantine

She used her life to protect this child, I was almost in tears when I saw she and other nursers risk their lives to let those children go. In the deepest darkness, there casts the brightest light. Like Jean Valjean, Logan somehow could have saved her, too bad. She had the courage and kindness of any superheroes, just like Fontaine sacrificed her dignity and her life to raise Cosette. I believe those children refused to fight like weapons because she and others had taught them love and goodness.

X-23:Cosette

The young Cosette was somehow alike to X-23, a girl with some wildness and spirit. I said X-23 was the best solution to replace Logan, and indeed, great acting from that girl.

Charles Xavier: Bishop Myriel

The one who sheltered Jean Valjean when he was broken, guided him to the right way and made him the person he had later become. Xavier had played exactly the same role in Logan's life. Even in this movie, when he could no longer control his power and mind, he still tried his best to guide Logan to do what was right.

The theme is also a bit like, Defeat one's own inner flaw and find redemption.

Trying to avoid spoilers but is there a post credit scene?

Nah. People are just easily pleased. They want it to be good so look for anything to justify saying it's good.

In fairness, Patrick Stewart is excellent in it.

Ok, I just saw it - have to agree with you.

Not that bad though, maybe 6/10.

Anyone else get this pro-immigration vibe going on? I found it distracting.

Kids (except X23) also rubbed me the wrong way at the end.

I haven't seen it, but it's really good.

9/10

Origins was better (more fun) than The Wolverine for me, minus the awful Deadpool rendition, which was waaaay more awful than the awful Silver Samurai rendition.
But i digress...

Saw it late last night at a 'wear a costume get free munchies' showing.
I was dressed Will.I.Am/Wraith. 😛
Fun movie. WAY better than his other 2 solo outings.

The villains were weak, Could've done alot more with them in this movie.

I'm trying to focus on the positive, like Jackman, Stewart and Keen's performances, and a plot that didnt try (and fail) too hard to be Old Man Logan, because i figure there'll be plenty of posters available over the next few days/weeks to be negative. 😇

After watching the movie myself, They didn't really use the plot of that comic's story.

Which was fine by me. Without the Marvel characters (Hulk, Hawkeye, Hank Pym, Red Skull, FF, etc.) usd and referenced in the series, most if not all of which were unavailable it just wouldnt have worked as intended.

It was a trailer. They just made it seem to be the opening.
