Disappointed I am, to find out from some who spoiled the whole game story for themselves, that pretty much nothing about it and the comics really connect. The MKX game & comic stories contradict each other greatly; so little between them really adds up, that the comics we've been reading or that I and some others have been posting here may as well be non-canon...
Heard the game's story was still at least decent though, but they ****ed up far as consistency. MKX's story is still good, but misleading as **** if you've been following the comics. In the game,
Spoiler:, for instance, and newer characters are said to be introduced differently and things like that.
Erron Black doesn't even seem to who know the **** Kano is
I'm glad about that, personally. It's very shitty for the folks who've been following that comics, and the powers that be should have probably been more clear about how faithful the comics are to the game, but I've never been a fan of important setting aspects being explained in tangential media. Not since you had to play shitty Chain of Memories on the DS in order to know what the **** KH2 was about.
If I'd played this game and was like "uhh why is X Y Z the way it is" and someone was like "oh they explained that in the comics", I'd be pretty annoyed.
Fair enough. Kinda get where you're coming from.
Guess now I know how everyone felt for those who actually read the Injustice prequel comics before the game came out, were getting all hyped and stuff for the game’s story from it, and then when they started to play it they went “Aw, really? They went there?!” when realizing the whole plot was just the ol' alternate dimension shtick.
Will still follow and enjoy the MKX comic's story for what it is though I guess, while realizing it may ultimately just be a glorified fan-fic in the grand scheme of things...

Quan's coolness totally makes it up for his shittyness in MK 9.

Looking back now, Shawn Kittelsen, writer of the MKX comics for DC, did actually say/claim that they were canon and would tie into MKX the game, but that turned out to be not the case... I'm fine with the comics being just an alternate take on the MK lore if that's what they were intended, but to mislead us like that? 👇 Funny thing is too, Shawn actually had the script for the MKX in-game storyline given to him when making the comics. I guess maybe NRS didn't care much as to whether the comics' story would really tie into the game's or not, as long as it promoted MKX which it did... Is what it is though.
The unlocks you can get from the mobile game are:
Johnny Cage Ninja Mime. All you need to do is connect to your WBID on both the console and mobile device.
Klassic Mileena: Complete a challenge ladder.
Kitana(doesn't say what kind of skin): Get one of your characters to level 40.
Farmer Jax: Complete the third bracket in battle mode.
Injustice Scorpion: Complete 100 Multiplayer matches.
then there are module backrounds, boarders, and koins for doing other various challenges. I almost have Jax skin and Johnny's is a glorified freebee. Mileenas isn't hard ether.
