Mortal Kombat X

So, am I gonna want to pick up MKX when it hits the 360?

In other words, is it better then, or at least distinct enough from MK9 and Injustice?

I keep hearing the gameplay is basically Injustice.. Complete with 3d hitboxes..

There's a little stage interactions, but it's pretty minor compared to Injustice, and has none of those silly stage transitions. You don't hold back to block, it's not like Injustice where the health bars don't reset after a round, no S.T.A.R. Lab esque mini-game filler, none of those gimmicky character traits with the B/circle button, etc...

While MKX prolly isn't quite as much a game changer to the series as MK9, it did still have plenty innovation like with the fighting variations, new and improved execution of brutalities, etc. Overall, better than MK9 in everything except story and roster (the newcomers are a mixed bag).

I've seen some comparison between this game and Killer Instinct 3.

I hadn't played either one but I do want to know, what do you guys think? In what ways each game is better than the other?

I'll tack another question onto the KI/MK comparison:

I know modern MK uses 3d hitboxes, as opposed to Street mapping 2d hitboxes over 3d models. I'm not really sure what the difference to gameplay, but a lot of people complain about the 3d hitbox method.

Whar does KI use?

Seems Tanya will be the next DLC add-on. Just got an update for MKX that makes her and the next costume pack compatible with online.

In other news, Carl Weathers will be voicing Jax's Major George alt.

And in case it wasn't obvious, haven't really gotten to play KI3, so wouldn't know how to compare it to MKX, but maybe someone here who has can make a fair assessment (doubt it though). And I know what a hitbox is, but don't get the issues people are having with 3D hitboxes in modern MK.

lol Oh wow. Speaking of brutalities, I recently learned Imposter Shinnok can steal someone's brutality when he has a stolen special via mimic that's normally required to do said brutality with other character.

Just hope that kind of thing lasts until MK11, for this game's sake. Because after a couple years of MK9, support of it was basically dropped to focus on Injustice...

Thankfully, it's just speculation, but if Kombat Pack 2 consisted of basically guys who got to be playable in the last game along with goddamn Frost (unique my ass; I've played the games she's in and she was nothing of the sort), I'll have pretty little interest in it. If nothing else, fans of the other NPC's may need to make themselves as heard to Boon on twitter as the Frost fans, I suppose. ermm

The current kombat pack sounds like a ripoff, unless I'm missing something. $30 for 4 characters and some skins. Is that all there actually is in it?
