This topic is over. it's been pointed out rightly over and over again that Godzilla is immune to the heat from a nuclear blast so smaug has no way to hurt him you stupid clown go die.
I wouldn't go as far as calling him stupid, or telling him to die, but he is wrong. Godzilla would crush Smaug like an insect. The size difference is too large, and like you said, Godzilla would be impervious to any of Smaug's attacks.

When did Smaug have a hard time ?
Godzilla showed he can tire and pass out due to exhaustion so we know it can happen since it has happened. Evidence supports that unlike Smaug who has flight.
🙂
Why would Godzilla ever tire against Smaug? He could just sit there and wait until Smaug BFR's himself due to having no effect against the superior creature. Or he would swat him out of the sky, because it's possible. Smaug isn't Spider Man, or the FLash. He can be hit, and would be hit. Godzilla only needs to hit him once, and it's game over.

Godzilla passes out. Fun Film fact.
Originally posted by StoicSince when is Godzilla immune to damage or does he sit there silently tanking attacks on purpose ? Godzilla isn't fast enough to do so. Smaug is too fast for Godzilla who was especially slow in the new film.

Smaug couldn't lay a claw on a handful o dwarves and a hobbit. He couldn't break an iron gate. He screamed in pain when gold was poured on him. And a metal arrow is gonna kill him.
Fun film facts.

😂
You are being so pathetic right now Quan. You literally ignore everything. Humans wince in pain when stung by a bee. What is your point? And for the eye comment. Are you saying you believe Godzilla detached his eyes from his head and threw them away before the atomic blast hit him? To pick them up at a later date? Because in a nuclear blast his eyeballs would have been under the same amount of heat and pressure as the rest of his body. An amount of heat and pressure that Smaug, Voldemort and Khan couldn't dish out if they all acted together at the same time. Even Godzilla 2014( one of the weakest incarnations ever, but physically largest) would stomp the shit out of everything you like. Just because you don't like a movie doesn't give you the right downplay every single thing they do and ignore all facts.

Quit bringing up other characters because you're upset Smaug wins. Smaug is faster, smarter, and powerful enough to defeat someone who has a habit of passing out when buildings fall or when he even wins sometimes.
😂
Godzilla wins this fight Quan,
HOWEVER,
the disrespect to the greatest dragon of the Third Age in this thread is ridiculous.
Smaug being small compared to Godzilla?
SMAUG is TWICE the Size of JUMBO JETS!

His breath being weak?
Smaug breath is comparable to a 10 KILOTON explosion.

The amount of Energy needed to power the forges of Erebor has been calculated and beyond the energy produced by modern day nuclear powered Aircraft Carriers!
In fact the author compares the energy needed to be similar to the SHIELD HELLICARRIER.
And Smaug powered the forges with a single blast!

Smaug isn't strong enough?
The dragon made an earthquake that shook the lonely mountain and lake town just pushing over a single damn column.
Now Godzilla wins no question about it, he tanks kiloton nukes, and beat up two muto monsters that wrecked cities, lifted nuclear submarines, and made a 6.3 earthquake in Japan themselves.
But Smaug is kaiju level. This he's small, like he's dragon heart size, and he can't muster up any power to affect modern day military forces is completely unfounded when Smaug is smashing right through mountain rock like its made of tissue paper, causing earthquakes, and blasting through sold rock like in the opening prologue scene.
Only on this forum would someone watch Smaug tearing through a Dwarven ancient kingdom and think the metal gates were weak and comparable to human made steel as if the Dwarves craftsman ship were only limited to that level. Mithril Vests anyone?
Godzilla wins but the lowballing of Smaug on this board ceases now!

And at the same time perhaps you didn't bother to take into consideration, at how easily Godzilla would tear through those same metal gates.
Now in comparison to Godzilla in terms of size, Smaug seems smaller to me http://www.godzilla-movies.com/community/forums/topic/29358 What do you think? Coming in and twisting words, or failing to ask questions and thoroughly putting on as if in disgust is poor form. I'm the one who said that Smaug was small. Not compared to a Human, Dwarf, Hobbit, or Orc, but to Godzilla in case you missed that part. Godzilla stands upright, while Smaug does not due to his physiology. At 779 feet tall, I don't see why Godzilla would have a hard time being seen as towering over Smaug who typically moves around on all fours. Do you? OK, glad we're starting to see the same picture. Low balling? Nope just telling it like it is. Smaug was a powerful creature, but do you really think that he's going to roast Godzilla with his breath weapon?
As for the Kaiju comment, you seem to have thoroughly read my posts, and so I will answer in kind. He's a Cat 3 in size. Weak? Nope, but neither were the Kaiju. However, Smaug compared to Godzilla, would be like comparing a strong Ox, to a strong bull Elephant. You said quite a few correct things by bringing many unknowns to light, and you were 100% correct when you said that, Godzilla wins.
Oh, and if you don't like this forum... Well, you know.

It's not that Godzilla couldn't tear them down it's the assumption they were weak sauce, made of simple steel, and it was somehow a low showing for Smaug.
These metal gates that no one, including myself, knows how durable they were made by the dwarves, capable of superior craftsmanship to human beings, but people are assuming their weak?
The only thing we know is that Smaug who has no difficulty slamming straight through the front gate and other walls of mountain rock has trouble trying to break it down. Watching the scene I make the assumption, those metal gates were more durable than anything else Smaug smashed through and not a low showing.

I don't think Smaug can take Godzilla down even with his 10 Kiloton blasts of flame or fire energy that according to the wire article I posted is comparable to the output of 38 nuclear powered Aircraft Carriers. Why? Because Godzilla tanked kiloton nuclear bombs back in 1954 as shown in the movie.
Now let's address my problems.
You're not the only one that said he was small. In this very thread you've got posters, page 4 for example, speculating and agreeing that Godzilla is more than 10x larger than Smaug. It's right there at the top of the page and its ridiculous. And that's just one page in this seven page topic which should have never gotten past the first page where most people, minus Quanchi, agreed that Godzilla wins. Then the lowballing started in quick succession.
Also the guy who runs that website made a FOLLOW UP POSTING where he admits he made a mistake in scaling Godzilla's measurements.
Source: http://www.godzilla-movies.com/community/forums/topic/29595
He recalculates the American Godzilla size to be 456ft tall not 700 plus.
456ft tall is not dwarfing Smaug to the level many on here assumed and tried to pass off.
A single 747 has a wingspan of over 195ft and length of 231ft.
Source: http://www.boeing.com/boeing/commercial/747family/pf/pf_classics.page
Smaug is over TWICE the size of a 747 Jumbo Jet, so while Godzilla is larger, its not to the degree you might have assumed, even with Smaug crawling on the ground, ignoring the possibility he would most likely be flying around Godzilla like the smaller Muto who is probably, I'm making an assumption, comparable in size to Smaug.

I just expressed what I felt and meant no personal disrespect to every poster that engages in debate and discourse on this site. I don't have a problem with your comparison or analogy. If it's not too much trouble could you link me to this Kaiju classification system you're using?

The Cat 3 Kaiju may be even larger than Smaug. These were some huge monsters.
http://pacificrim.wikia.com/wiki/Knifehead
Also being larger means that Godzilla would be able to throw around more weight than Smaug, and considering the destruction that he caused in the movie, I don't see why he would tear through that gate faster. i'm not saying that the gate was weak, but when you're talking about Godzilla....

You won't get an argument from me on Godzilla tearing through the gate faster, I was just concerned that it was being seen as a weak showing for Smaug rather than a good showing for Dwarven forged metal and craftsmanship.
According to the bio Knifehead is listed at 315ft tall. It's hard to get an accurate scale for Smaug outside the picture comparing him to Two Jumbo Jets. Found a good still of that picture on this page.
Source: http://www.cglovers.com/2014/03/the-hobbit-desolation-of-smaug-bringing.html
Taking the measurements of the 747 I posted earlier would give Smaug a wingspan, and this is approximation since each of his arms dwarf those planes, of over 390ft. He looks like he's twice as long as the planes too making him around 460ft long though most of that is tail. His main body, neck, and head, is comparable to the length of one of the planes, even with his neck bending down. So he's at least 230-250ft tall area standing on his hind legs and not all fours.
I'd agree with your assessment of him being around a category 3 in terms of size. The energy projection part of it is a whole another debate though I imagine 😎
