Who wins?

Max, unless it's WF Mxy.

My reasoning:
We know Mxy himself has the ability to effortlessly destroy/recreate absolutely all of creation in DC(because he did.) We know that even someone who is a relative n00b with Mxy's powers(Joker) can whimsically destroy/recreate universes, overtake/imprison aspects of God himself(Spectre), very nearly destroy the multiverse-proper, and even extend his influence into the higher dimensional planes as well(because he did.)

So even in a forum setting with CIS on, I see a fight between Max and Mxy playing out similarly to Mxy's battle with Bat-Mite in WF, given than Max is [also] a high-end reality warper. ie. it starts out relatively small(city-level), progresses to planetary, then to galactic, then to universal, then to multiversal, then to omni-creation. The reason I'd give the nod to Mxy is because he's got the feats that Max lacks(lip-service only goes so far.)

^ So basically, we agree that WF Mxy wins (because you're using his WF feat to grant him the win over Max)

WF aside though, id give Max the win.

Yeah, Mxy only wins if he takes the fight seriously and goes all-out, like he did with Bat-Mite in WF. I do believe that's how he would regard this battle(for reasons I mentioned above), thus I believe he wins.

Like Galan said, Mxy has the better feats, even ignoring Worlds Funnest. Indirectly, Joker used his power on a universal to multiversal scale. And Crisis Times Five puts 5d power above Spectre level.

Joker had potential multiversal power in EJ, although he still affected all dimensions up to the the fifth even when he was inexperienced. That's pretty impressive. Max had omniversal potential, which puts him above the Emperor Joker, imo.

Yeah, that arc was also an awesome one for the imps; it also regarded them as beings outside of all creation even by heaven's standards iirc. Still though, being above the Spectre doesn't put Mxy above Max. Not to mention that he's had several low showings too.

^ Mxy/5-D denizens, like pretty much all characters in comics, have been shat on at times, sure. Heck, even Marvel is currently showing us(ala Original Sin) that NO character(s) are safe from being shat on--LT, Uatu, and Ego notwithstanding. Stupid as it is, that's comics for ya. /shrug

Typically, however, Imps are painted in a very uber light--especially when they stop playing around.

Yeah, and the low end showings of someone like Thunderbolt are easily explainable as him just being useless if not given the right orders.

Like when he was specifically asked to banish Spectre, and it backfired on him. That's less Spectre overpowering the imp, as it is Jakeem giving him bad tactics and not ordering him to do anything about a misfire...
