The hound was beaten by the much slower Brienne. He doesn't have Gregor's freakish strength since women can outpunch him.

Is this still going on? After Oberyn handily outfought the Mountain via skill and speed, why does anyone think that the Hound would beat him? Bronn was pretty sure he would lose to the Mountain and didn't even want to attempt fighting him. He had no problem getting in the Hounds face though. That should tell you more than enough about the massive gap between the Hound and the Mountain. And there was a pretty massive gap between the Viper and the Mountain. Not to get into A>B>C reasoning, but Bronn and the Hound aren't in the same league as the Mountain and the Viper. Oberyn wins this fight effortlessly.
