gambit was supposed to be in x2 but it was cut. i found this awhile ago on another forum
Hey everyone. i e-mailed James Bamford about a month ago and he replyed to my question. i was shocked i never get a reply direct from a celebraty well stunt man anyway. but here is what my e-mail from James Bamford Said.
Brian picked me because of my look and because I am a stuntman that could do
what was involved in the scene and not worry about my safety. I was the only
one that was considered and it was last minute. The stunt coordinators
brought me in front of Brian for a "look-see", and he gave me the job. The
scene consisted of a bunch of rough looking people, including Gambit,
sitting in a New Orleans bar. I happened to be sitting at a card table, of
course, playing poker. As the scene progresses, the camera rushes in on me
as I begin to shake and transform with a rush of power. The veins in my arms
pop up, and in a spasm, I knock over some drinks, and playing chips. The
cards in my hand explode into flames as the camera continues to get closer
to me. On a full close-up, profile, they cut the camera and the scene is
over. That's about all I can tell you about the scene. I didn't have my
camera with me, and there was no on set photographer that day to take photos
either. Sorry about that. I don't even know what they did with the footage.
I think they cut that scene, and a few others involving
Beast.......etc..........
.....because they want to make room for a famous
actor to take on the role in later movies...................
