An X3 idea
Ok, so I've had an idea kicking around my head for quite some time trying to figure out what the hell X3 could be. I think I got it pinned down, so I figured I'd share it with you guys and see what you think.
Remember, this is a VERY rough outline. There would have to be more subplots, extra scenes and the plot would have to be more drawn out. And, of course, more Storm characterization so that Halley Barrey doesn't ***** again.
We start out with the president, trying his best to convince some military minds not to do something called "Project: Wideawake". In the end, he makes it a presidential order not to. We cut to the lake where Jean died. Workers are working on draining it, when suddenly the lake starts to boil. They freak out and run. Big Wolverine Dangerroom sequence, and perhaps introducing Beast to the mansion, before the Professor gets a phone call and tells Cyclops what's happening at the lake. He goes and checks it out, and gets there just in time to see Jean explode from the lake as Pheonix. All of the X-men are shown screaming, their heads in terrible pain, as Jean telepathically projects the words "I AM PHEONIX!" into their minds. Then she collapses, and Cyclops carries her to the mansion. In the med-lab, Jean isn't doing well. Beast tries to help her, but her condition seems to be getting worse. Cyclops and Wolvering are at their wits end, grappling with the thought that they may lose her again. In desperation, the Professor calls a brilliant bio-geneticist that specializes in mutation: Nathaniel Essex. Essex comes to the mansion with two "manservants", a cajun boy with red eyes and a huge, muscular looking guy. Wolverine smells something he can't quite place when around the servants, who introduce themselves as Remy and Victor. Remy takes a liking to Rogue immediately, much to the chagrin of Bobby. He hits on her for the rest of the film, until finally Bobby tries to freeze a wall between him and Rogue, only to see it charged up and exploded. Meanwhile, Magneto, Pyro and Mystique attack a military base for seemingly no reason. Many lives are lost, and the President is forced to activate Wideawake. The professor mobilizes the X-men to find Magneto, but Cyclops refuses to come and stays at Jean's side. Storm takes over leadership of the team. In the ensuing battle with Magneto, the X-men discover why he attacked the base-he was trying to stop Project Wideawake. Widewake turns out to be the Sentinel program, and both sides are attacked by the huge robots. Nightcrawler teleports home in order to warn the rest of the X-men and bring backup. Back at the mansion, Essex convinces Cyclops to get some rest, and when Cyclops leaves he begins performing some unorthadox looking tests on Jean. Victor and Remy enter the room, and Essex reveals that he is trying to get samples of Cyclops and Jean's DNA in order to create a powerful psi-talent that he can control. Upstairs, we see that the X-kids (Rogue, Iceman, Jubilee and Colussus) have been listening. Back to the Sentinel battle, where things are not going well. For every one they topple, more rise to take their place. Nightcrawler arrives at the mansion, and stumbles inside. Essex sends Victor to bring him Cyclops from his room, "or his blood if that's all you can get." Remy slips out and follows him. Victor tries to get into Cyclops's room, but the X-kids get in his way. He throws them around a bit, until only Rogue is standing in his way. He raises his claws to kill her, and gets a charged up card to the chest. Gambit vs. Sabertooth. We cut to the medlab, where Nightcrawler limps in. He sees Essex working on Jean, and tries to stop him, but gets smashed into a wall. Essex reveals himself as Sinister, and starts beating Nightcrawler to death. Just before he can finish it though, Jean's hand stops him. We then see Sinister flying out of the mansion at top speed, propelled by a punch from Jean. She then proceeds to collapse again.
Basically, that's as far as I've gotten. I know we need a Wolverine vs. Sabertooth fight, and the Sentinels need to attack the mansion before Jean as Pheonix stops them. The last shot should be seeing that Sinister has the genetic data from Jean and Scott after all.
Personally, I think that sounds awesome. One can only hope that the X3 plot is that good, it would be very gratfying to the X-Men fans, and plenty enough exciting to keep the average moviegoer interested.
What's Mr. Sinister going to do with their genetic data. Is he going to create a Madelyne Pryor, or perhaps a Stryfe?
Yeah, I'd give it a shot. What could it hurt? If your synopsis interested them enough and it made it through into a script, you'd be a friggin' legend!
That Nate Grey angle is also pretty interesting. It could open the door to introduce Apocalypse, the mutant he was originally intended to destroy, in a future X-Men movie.
I have to say that that idea is....well.......FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!! I would definatley watch that on the big screen. I don't know about the sabretooth thing though. Maybe he could be back with magneto and then wolvie and him have a fight that way. It makes more sense 😄 Good way of introducing gambit too 😄
