maul was simply a sith assassin. not very astute with the force. he mostly relied on lightsaber techniques.

Maul had access to the force and used it in combat. His precog enabled him to take on 2 Jedi at once. All force users are able to reach out with the force and feel others.

Even if Maul cannot do this, he has his precog. He will know when Khan will be shooting before Khan even fires. Also, this will give away Khan's location.

Khan has his weapons in this battle. Can Maul dodge those? Also, how far does Maul force reach because Khan could fire off a couple of attacks before Maul reached him. Khan having his weapons here gives him the advantage.

Yes he does. If Darth Maul turns his lightsaber off, lays down, and decides to take a nap - Khan has maybe a 1% chance to defeat Darth Maul. 😛
