Was Tavion able to use force cloak/masking

While I was watching some Jedi Knight Jedi Academy playthroughs and playing Jedi Academy for myself to confirm, I found that Tavion quite literally appears out of Thin air. Seriously take a look and judge for yourselves.

Yet when Jaden beats Rosh she appears out of nowhere. Skip to 24:02.

Maybe it was a developing mistake? or did they want to make a cool reveal of a character you once faced as Kyle. Thoughts?

For the entire duration of Rosh and Jaden's duel? seems unlikely plus she isn't even scene in the first shot as i pointed out and neither Kyle nor Jaden sensed her presence at all?
