MM will probably have legs,
Let's hope so. Everyone's saying it's a kick ass movie.
Marketing must have been poor though for a film that good to get such a low OW.

[BFor a rated R movie, it did solidly well. [/B]
Doesn't matter it's R-Rated. Because they've spent $150mill on it, so will want minimum £300mill WW. For sequels it needs Approx $350-400mill WW (the more of that it gets domestcially the better it's chances).
Well, it looks like it has done well enough globally to move forward according to the director.

Again, for a rated R movie it did well. It should finish around 400 M WW, if released in China. Maybe a little bit more. WB gave Pacific Rim a sequel and it had a larger budget and finished around the same.
Enjoyed it, was a blast to watch overall. Though I think nostalgia had a lot to do with it and seeing all the little shout-outs to the original films was a lovely touch.
Even though Charlize was a great heroine and I do look forward to seeing more of Furiosa***, found it a little off putting that Max somewhat played second-fiddle in a "Mad Max" film.
***The script for 'Mad Max: Furiosa' seems like it's going to be made into film with Fury Road's apparent success.
It did very good considering how niche of a film it is. But that alone doesn't mean it will get a sequel due to the huge budget. If it gets a sequel it will be because of the overwhelming positive reception of the film rather then because it made a profit. With that said, one of the reasons the budget was likely so high was because the film has been in development hell for quite some time. So a sequel likely will be able to be made with a smaller budget.
Anyway, as for the sequel, I hope they don't do a Furiosa spin off. I enjoyed the character but I'd rather get something new again.

LoL, you're so angry with me from owning your up and down the MVF that you're raging at me in here.

I've always been a Mad Max fan 👆
You should probably watch the film before you judge it "mindless" as fact, rageboy. 🙂
Originally posted by RobtardI watched it Friday night. I fell asleep for ten minutes in the middle of it. The manner in which the villain was dealt with was so anticlimactic it isn't even funny. This series has always been a disappointment thus far.

You seem to be a fan of every franchise out there for the most part. 😂
Ps. Maybe it needs Abrams.
I don't think I've felt so much intensity watching a film in the theatre since The Dark Knight Rises, or Saving Private Ryan. Like SPR, the intensity of Fury Road verged on unbearable at times, but that just goes to show the awesome skill of George Miller and his film making team, putting this together after a lengthy production schedule that rivals Apocalypse Now (and maybe like Apocalypse Now, Fury Road is destined to be remembered as a crazy masterpiece.)

Look at you doing flips for me again, first it's "I fell asleep, didn't keep my interest" to "I fell asleep but for only ten minutes, I swear!".
How does a pushing forty year old man fall asleep in an action-rollercoaster like 'MM:Fury Road', but somehow remains awake and on the edge of his seat for snore-fest crap like 'Beautiful Creatures'. 🙂

You liked man of steel and Mad Max so all that is required is action. You're a die hard die hard fan. That series is awful these days but you still blindly adore the films.
