Akame Ga Kill

If a series has to pull you through on the back of one character alone it's not worth your time.

I never got passed how the show treats Minene as a good guy immediately after she tries to blow up a school with no change in between other than losing an eye. And how every character shrugs and is like "Sure, she killed children but you know she's not sorry about it and hasn't done anything to redeem herself so obviously she's got our backs."

Like.... no. She's not a wacky anti-hero, she's a ****ing monster. Treat her like it.

Isn't Yuno a monster though?

The only legitimately marginal not monster character in the whole anime is the blind guy and maybe Yuki lol 😛

Funny, I've heard Yuki is the single most deplorable piece of shit in the manga.

His dilemma is to exist, and fears above all else to cease to exist so he twists others to continue; while everyone else is to trample others who are the sources of their problems out of revenge or joy. In the end when he attains power he seeks to undo what was done. That is why I said maybe hehe

Yes, and the show treats her like it and doesn't gloss over the fact that she's completely insane. Minene blows up a school and is a terrorist yet still gets treated as a good person.

I haven't read/watched Future Diary so I can't comment on it. Let's get back to Akame Ga Kiru!, shall we?

Just caught up watching the episodes. Since I've read the manga, I know what's coming but the faithfulness to the manga keeps me enjoying it.

One thing that drew me to this series is that the art style makes me recall Needless at times. The character designs for both mangas have a razor sharp feel to them and they both have fights that emit sympathy pain like crazy.

I'll go ahead and admit that this show has become a guilty pleasure for me.

Not really. Now that my two favorites are gone (With only Akame rivaling them) I am entirely jaded.

Anyone know the name of the song/beat that plays during the fight between Akame and the Fire guy from Esdeath's team? It is from episode 6 and it plays during the middle of the episode when Akame dodges his flame thrower at point blank range. I MUST HAVE IT AS RING TONE.

I broke down and read the manga. I seriously question my hatred of so many people on the bad guy side now 🙁 The only legitimate bad guys are the new comers and the minister guy 😬

Uh, Esdeath is the minister's best buddy and outright condones the people's suffering, and sexually gets off on torture. She's a bad guy.
