Yeah. Good question. Same goes with Superman.
Not as much, imo. Google "inspiration for Superman" or something similar. Even Big Blue was a knockoff.

I think some would disagree with you on this selection.

I Agree. The novel Gladiator and character Hugo Danner was a massive inspiration. Same powerset to his original levels to the T. plus Seigal and Shuster wrote a review on the novel in a 1931 Sci-fi fanzine. They certainly couldn't claim they weren't aware of him.

Whatever their tiers may be, I'd say Spider-Man, Deadpool (maybe not his powerset, but his personality), Ghost Rider, Spawn, the Green Lantern mythos in general...there are probably quite a few if I really sat and thought about it.

Didn't Cpt. Marvel actually come before him as well? And at the time, their power sets were even more homogenous than they are now.

This isn't about fictional bragging points on a vs. board. This is history. It takes nothing away from Kal to say that it wasn't an original idea at the time. The longevity and popularity of the character have long since made such points irrelevant to any discussion of Superman's importance as a cultural icon.
