Forshadowed in New Avengers 19. I'll add the scans once I'm upto 20 posts.

Banner was tweaking the extremis Stark fitted to his brain. "It allows me to throttle back while green with rage.". Clearly implying Banner was throttling back Hulk's anger in the battle.

Yeah, he took a dose of the serum moments before fighting Sun God. A lot of Context during that fight.

He also said he would use it sparingly. And I doubt he was throttling Hulk's rage when his universe was on verge of destruction.

Not to mention, not a single implication of so. Banner doesn't go "Hulk is the strongest one there is" when he controls hulk, that's savage hulk through and through.

Starlin is a big fan of Hulk. People's perception of Thanos is skewed by a lack of context.

During IG both Hulk and Thor beat down Thanos before he used the IG to shrink down Hulk and later turn Thor into glass. The so called pimp hand, when Thanos primed a nuke and thus Hulk and Drax couldn't attack further, is always shown, those scans however rarely are.

Nor are the scans in which an amped Gamora beat the tar out of Thanos during Warlock And The Infinity Watch 8 or indeed the scans during Thanos' infamous fight with Odin in which Odin states Thanos is using a power source i.e. an amp (Warlock And The Infinity Watch 25), thus explaining why Thanos was able to fight Odin evenly for so long.

Thanos is obscenely powerful but he is not more powerful than either Thor, Hulk, Hyperion or Gladiator. He's at their level, as his fight with Thor during Infinity showed. Neither of them were actually hurt, albeit Thor was knocked down twice.

Thanos' best showings are thrashing Silver Surfer, BRB and Black Bolt. His best durability feat is tanking a black hole that pulled in everything from 2 light years i.e. 12 trillion miles (Infinity Abyss 1 & 2). As impressive as that sounds Hulk tanks a blast from an anti-matter canon (Tales to Astonish 78) whereas Drax used anti matter to kill Thanos (The Thanos Imperative 3) and tanked a blast that destroyed an entire universe (Incredible Hulk 126), superseded by Hyperion tanked the death of two universes but whose counting?

I doubt there will be a decisive winner. They'll brawl then Thanos will talk Hulk out of continuing or Hulk will get bored. I imagine it will be more of an actual Hulk & Thanos team-up to stop Blastaar and Annihilus.

Why don't add more wrong facts to your post to make it even worse?

It was foreshadowed for a reason. That was a Banner in control of Hulk not a Hulk in control of Banner, as is the case currently. Savage Hulk wants to be left alone and was prone to getting KO by lightning and energy attacks. It's Mindless Hulk and WWH that were the unstoppable monsters who showed the greatest levels of strength and durability.

Hickman gone out of his way to keep Hulk strong, Hulk was the only Avenger not to job to the AIM robot, he was taken out of Infinity by having a star dropped on him, his throat cut and reverted back to Banner. Throttling back was a plot device to excuse Hulk's defeat and open the door for Doctor Strange to 'save' the day, if murdering heroes could be considered saving the day.

They weren't wrong as the scans show. I give references so my claims can be verified. I'll post them when I'm upto 20 posts.

As I said people's perception of Thanos is skewed by a lack of context. I've read every major story recently aside from Warlock & The Infinity Watch which I'm 1/4 of the way through. I'm very thorough. I don't accept feats for any character until I've read the entire story myself to get the correct context.

I am not low balling Thanos, despite what you may think, otherwise I wouldn't have mentioned the black hole feat, I'm merely pointing out his rep is exaggerated.

Hickman put that part in there (the antidote) right before the Sung God fight for a reason. Plot.

Foreshadowed but never even implied? That's convenient.

Yeah, look how Banner was in control here. He was calling himself Hulk and talking in third person.

I suggest you to read some hulk comics and come back. Because savage Hulk was one of the most durable hulks out of all.

Then why have him fight Sun God and make him proclaim that Hulk wasn't the strongest one to begin with? Seems like Hulk fans's usual BS whenever Hulk loses.

Good to see that we use writer intentions for this, but when the writer puts chronal metal in Hulk's hands, nooooooooo, he randomly did that for no reason.

Why does it need to be implied if it's foreshadowed? It was subtle, a point obviously missed by many. It wouldn't have been shown if it didn't play out.

Stan Lee established how the dynamic works in a story he wrote in 1966. Tales to Astonish 78

"With each passing second, the brilliant brain of Bruce Banner becomes more clouded. More dulled as the bestial, savage mind of the Hulk all but obliterates the identity of his other self!"

Then later in the same story as he sees Betty. "For a few fleeting seconds, in some dim, recess of the Hulk's brain, the part which was once Bruce Banner suddenly remembers but then the sensation vanishes leaving in its wake only the snarling, rampaging creature who roars his defiance for the World to hear!"

Hickman had Hulk fight Sun God and had him beaten by Sun God to establish him as a threat the Illuminati could not defeat and thus had to resort to using Doctor Strange's dark magic.

I suggest looking at Doc Green to see how the Banner/Hulk dynamic works when Banner is not in control. The Banner/Hulk dynamic is considerably more complex than many think. It's about a guy who is fighting severe depression and his rage and anger manifests itself into a monster. The level of control he does or indeed does not have is determined by his mental state at the time. So no, it is not bs, it's exploring the very core of the character and battle for control of a mind by two beings.
