Iron Giant=Umbaran technology
I just re-watched the Iron Giant movie, and based on the color and sophistication of the energy weapons the Giant utilized, I couldn't help but imagine it as a piece of Umbaran technology. Also if any species developed intergalactic travel capabilities in NEwcanon, it would be the Umbarans.
