Tempest:
"
It's a thread discussing the merits and pitfalls of reusing Legends elements in the new EU, yes? So if I say "most of the EU sucks balls," it stands to reason that my opinion is the new EU would be better off without old EU elements."
You made your opinion known, now all you can do is basically repeat it again and again like a broken record not adding anything to the discussion.

One could say that of any opinion offered, yours included. You kinda suck at this whole exchange of ideas thing.

No they don't.
Look, if you don't like the EU, fine, that's your business. You've said your piece now either contribute something meaningful or shut up. Right now all you're doing is going out of your way to upset people. That's really pathetic.
You want to contribute to an actual interesting discussion, post something with actual meaning, like WHY you dislike it.

Cool story.
If someone is "upset" by me saying that most of the EU sucks, then it is that person (not me) who is pathetic. Welcome to the 21st century. This is a marketplace of differing and dissenting opinions and you need to acclimate accordingly.
Not only is the bandwagon mentality stupid, it's unrealistic and quite dangerous. Taken to extremes, these are the same people who gave death threats to the reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes who dared to give The Dark Knight Rises a less than perfect score.
See what I'm saying? It's time to sack up. People have different opinions than you, it's perfectly fine for them to express them without censorship, and it's best for everyone in the long run if they can learn to coexist, communicate, and interact without rancor or tears or emotional trauma.
This wasn't a one-sided conversation, Shey contributed to its extension as well. And now you.
So before you vilify me, you should probably consider your own actions?

We can have a general canon debate thread for the usual canon wars. I don't see why we have to derail this topic. If you would start a thread about what new characters they should create i would not derail it by arguing how awesome the EU was.
Lol I'm sorry, but who the hell cares if Tempest or anyone else dislikes or likes the EU? different people, have different of opinions, responding to Tempest and vice versa, will only end with this thread getting even more off topic.
Anyway, Getting back on track. What is the worst thing to come out of the EU? Novel-wise i mean.
