I'm fine with making him look more alien, but he didn't look very good in his previous chair scenes, the CGI is greatly improved now.

Do wonder why they went for a more human look, guessing his previous look didn't test well with viewers.

He looked better. More evil! Also more...profesional, more pasionate in his quest

Thanos seems like...THANOS!

Thanos is going to show all the naysayers such as Rob, playa, etc. who doubted Thanos.

The Avengers is a much more memorable film than either Winter Soldier or Civil War, btw. Both are great films in their own right, don't great me wrong, but neither one had the sizable impact on the world or on me personally as Avengers 1 did.

While they didn't have the impact that Avengers 1 had, they are better films imo. More emotion and overall better storytelling. Though Avengers 1 isn't far behind. All 3 are great movies and you can't go wrong liking 1 over the other. 👆

Remember that MCU was quite young and unexperienced.

Considering that, I consider A1 better.

Yeah, I think we should just leave it all three are great films. I strongly disagree that Avengers has weaker storytelling though, and imo it is much more emotionally compelling, at least to me. Your Mileage May Vary.

Ok.

I think your criteria sucks but won't fault you for liking one great movie over another.

Definitely agree that Avengers was more memorable than Civil War or Winter Soldier even if as a film critic you might say the latter two were better made.

To me an incomplete superhero movie tier might go:

The Dark Knight Trilogy

Avengers /
Spider-man 2 maybe

GotG /
Civil War /
Winter Soldier /
Wonder Woman /
Iron Man /
Homecoming

Man of Steel?

The thing is, Avengers 1 I pretty much consider to be the finale to the MCU. Everything that has come after Avengers is just gravy. Delicious gravy, but gravy nonetheless. Infinity War is going to have a bigger, badder villain than Loki was, and there's going to be more heroes involved, and there's going to be a bigger impact on the MCU as a whole, but Avengers 1 gave me a feeling that, I swear I'm not even exaggerating here, but it gave me a feeling that was close to an orgasm. Not like a sexual orgasm, but a fanboy orgasm. I literally left the theater where I could barely walk because I was shaking so hard from the joy and mirth that I felt watching it, and even like five years later, it's one of those movies that when it's on TV I have to sit down and watch it again. It perfectly bottles all of the fun of reading a comic book into one movie.

Honestly I'll take the Cap trilogy over TDK trilogy ANY day. The films were all great (to me anyway) and got better with every one or at least were equivalent. There is way better action and more emotional payoff in the Cap Trilogy. Also, TDKR is a huge step down in quality from TDK. I find the rest of your list off as well but hey, you're entitled to your opinion.

I don't get why, because I want to love them more than I already do, but the Cap movies aren't movies that I find myself revisiting a lot. TDKR has a lot of flaws, but it's also a movie that I keep going back to over and over. To me it's more of a film with a bunch of excellent, emotional, gripping scenes all strung together by a plot that doesn't really make a whole lot of sense.

TDKR was pretty crappy imo. Also, the fighting between Bane and Batman looks awful compared to any fighting in the Cap trilogy past the first movie.

It certainly didn't help that they had to keep using filming tricks to make Tom Hardy's Bane look at least as tall as Christian Bales' Batman...

I mean...I've been hearing that from people online and IRL for five years. I've heard all the arguments, and I just don't see it. TDKR is flawed no doubt, but there's just too many good/great scenes for me to call it a bad film. If Nolan doesn't get the details about Batman and the characters right, he gets the psychology of the characters and their motivations and emotions pitch perfect. I would put it above all of the Captain America movies, personally.

The First Avenger is solid. I really like it, but it just doesn't have that x factor that puts it over the top for me.

The Winter Soldier I mostly like for the themes more so than the story, the characters, or the action. It's just really cool to me to have a mainstream movie be that politically subversive. It was also very cool of the filmmakers to use HYDRA as a stand in for the Illuminati and imply that in the MCU, every real life conspiracy theory about the Illuminati is more or less true. The fight scenes are great, much better than the Nolan films, but truth be told, I really don't care about Cap/Bucky that much. They have a cool relationship, but Bale just kicks Chris Evans's ass at acting and emoting every day of the week. I don't feel that strongly about Cap the same way most people do.

Civil War is also a great movie, but the plot is arguably just as flimsy as the one in Rises. Lets be honest, it's all just an excuse to get to the airport scene. The Sokovia Accords were pretty contrived and doesn't make a lot of sense when you think about it. The two saving graces of the film are Spider-Man and Black Panther. Tom Holland automatically shot to the top of my favorite Spider-Man actors list in that movie. He's so charming and so relatable, and that scene where he interacts with Cap at the airport just broke my heart in two. Black Panther was also great, particularly because he's the first superhero in a movie to scare the shit out of me with how good of a fighter he is. Black Panther I admit makes every single live action Batman seem like a paraplegic by comparison, as does Cap and Bucky. But the plot with the Accords and with Zemo were meh.

Winter Solder and Civil War CRUSH TDKR. Especially Winter Soldier. Again, you can't even compare the action at all. The action in The First Avenger isn't the best but after that it blows away anything in the entire Nolan franchise easily. Also, there is one massive character arc for Steve throughout his trilogy and he has way more development than Bruce Wayne does in Nolan's trilogy. Not saying that Bruce doesn't have an arc, just that his pales in comparison. Also, despite Caps trilogy being INCREDIBLY more diverse (Period piece, Political Thriller, Action/Drama team up), it's just also more fun. It's more "Super-heroey" whereas TDK trilogy is more of a crime series that has a comic book character in it.

You're welcome to your opinions of course, but I disagree completely with you on pretty much every level.

At the end of the day though, both are great and clearly the best 2 Super Hero trilogies.

Are you sure its my criteria the one that sucks?

The action in WS and Civil War destroys the pitiful action from the Dark Knight trilogy.

You can have your fight scenes. The TDK trilogy has better acting, story, villains, themes, music, and visuals.

I disagree but I'll take your concession on fight scenes. Those films drag the **** on.

the only thing I can MAYBE concede here are the villains, but Caps villains are great as well. And hell, He's the only one with a villain that actually WON. Joker did kill his girlfriend though so there is that.

Everything else though I disagree entirely.

Like I said before, I like all six movies between Captain America's trilogy and TDK trilogy. We can agree to disagree on which one is better. I guess I just feel really protective over the Dark Knight trilogy because those movies mean a lot to me. Batman Begins is what got me interested in Batman and reading comics to begin with.

No worries man, they're both great trilogies and you should protect what you care about. We disagree but that's fine 👆

It'd be boring if everyone agreed with each other all the time.
