The family business

Time was, kids followed on their parents footsteps job wise. Not so much anymore.
Are you/do you know someone who has the same job as a majority of their family?
I've known a lot of soldiers, policemen and doctors who go back to their grandparents, with cousins, aunts and uncles in the mix.

My father has worked in IT or Telecommunications since I was a small child. When I jumped into the corporate world in my first actual career job, it was IT Support. At the time, my father was an IT Director for a multi-campus university. Right now, I'm an IT Director.

So am I emulating my father? Perhaps. My father taught me Unix and DOS commands when I was a small child. I remember being 7 and creating batch files.

That is freaking cool! 😄
