Looks like a Stormtrooper helmet type of thing.

That + vader and crimson guard. That pattern looks like something from jabbas palace..

It looks better with a hood. It has cheapish look.

It's just how the 6" figure was made. You can take the blade off the saber, I believe. This keeps all 3 together so you don't lose the small cross guards.

I think its more than some manufacturing solution.. I believe the arc explains how the cross guards can be functional for blocking. Maybe the blade only arcs like that when another blade comes into contact.
