I presume that Exar Kun have superior understanding of the dark arts then Darth Caedus. On top of this, he isn't lacking in martial aspects of combat either.
I don't think that Darth Caedus would have an easy time with Exar Kun and/or defeat him in most situations. This isn't a one-sided battle.
