Got a Switch and this game yesterday and so far I'm very impressed. I've always had trouble getting into Zelda games before, actually haven't completed one since the original when I was four years old. Never finished OOT, even.
I've always been one to enjoy overworld activities more than lengthy dungeons in games, and I think that's why I've always had problems with the newer 3D Zelda games. In OOT I loved exploring Hyrule field and doing things out in the world, but as soon as a dungeon would start I'd kind of lose interested and just kind of rush through it to get back out into the world. I know the de-emphasization on long traditional dungeons is controversial in this game but so far I'm loving the change. I like the little bite sized shrine/dungeons, they are quick and fun and then I can get back out to exploring the world, which is gorgeous and has a great personality.
The combat is fun and even the fragile weapons, which I was concerned that I would find annoying, is kinda cool because it makes finding weapons exciting no matter what.
Thus far, this looks like the Zelda game I've been waiting for.
