Darth Bane DOE/Agen Kolar/Kit Fisto vs. Darth Malgus/Exar Kun/TCW Maul

Battle takes place on neutral ground

*Round 2 Team 1 gets Plo Koon, team 2 gets Lumiya

Team 2 stomps.

Well shit this really isn't difficult at all.

Spoiler:
Bane solos

Don't forget round 2, Bane has Plo Koon for backup

Team 2 comfortably.

up

Team 1 wins

Kolar's too fast, and with Bane's unpredictable style and great tactics the two working together should be enough to gain them a reasonable majority. Kit Fisto's Shi Cho is also a great advantage to Kun's saberstaff, and Bane's speed and defensive ability makes him better than Maul.

Maul has never shown the ability to fight an opponent that knows Soresu and Djem so, Bane is more skilled and his lightning grants him a force edge over Maul. Malgus has no answer to Kolar's Kung fu either

Exactly I agree, especially on the point about Malgus. Malgus got kicked in the face by Satele and didn't feel it but you aren't going to sit around and tell me he's shrugging a couple of these off:

Game over, night night.

In Panel 2 Kit Fisto got ko'ed by Kolar, and coupling Kolar's Teras Kasi with his ability to form green afterglows with his lightsaber- Malgus can't beat that. Team 1's advantage is clearly unpredictability, as Bane can couple fast rain chopping action and his tactics coupled with Kolar's martial arts should give them yet another edge.

I don't even think they need Fisto, he needs water to be useful after all.

Also it's worth noting that Kolar is an expert practitioner of the arm-chop technique, as shown when he was about to cut off Vos' arm but chose not to for time issues because he was gonna miss Spy Kids 3. When he inevitably cuts off Malgus or Kun's arm Maul will revert to his natural instincts and run away like on Florrum and end up getting shot by a pirate or something.

I think you're lowballing personally, low showings for characters aren't good examples of what they're capable of. Because we can go into Kun getting beaten up by Massassi, or Malgus nearly getting killed by Jace's rocket. Bane has no low showings of his own, as his tactics have always given him an edge over opponents. Maul on the other hand might have to resort to using his magical leg kicks against Kolar though, now that I think of it he might be the only reason team 2 might have a chance. Both Zabraks are incredible martial artists, and can likely spare a fight by going into fisticuffs while the others duke it out with the force or something

LOL WHAT? Who are you suggesting is going to be capable of lasting 2 seconds against Kolar in a Force duel?

"Always the diplomat Agen"..

Did Agen use a mind trick or TP attack on Vos and those thugs in that scan? That might be something he can do against Malgus because he is a brute and stupid. Wow Kolar really is a force powerhouse, first he can throw guns and deflect blaster bolts- and now he's mastered the Jedi mind trick.

He's in the upper echelon of Force Users in the mythos, easily top 5 IMHO along with the Dark Council and Satele Shan.

Also did you see that massive afterimage he left in the second last panel with his Force-Torch? I doubt anyone on the other team will be able to match that showing.

Yeah, Kolar gripped his lightsaber so hard it nearly shorted it out. He is underrated I mean the ability to form afterglows and use a mindtrick on thugs (and affect Quinlan vos) surpasses any mental showings from team 2. He can probably TP Malgus or Maul instantly

All Maul has done is petrify some featless Iktotchi by letting him browse the mental annals of his Zabrak porn collection. Kolar would slap him into a coma while forming afterimages in the minds of all the others.

Why weren't Kolar's TP based attacks useful against Sidious? Now that we've already established the fact Kolar can stomp Kun and Maul with his mental assaults, I have to understand why the Jedi trick didn't work on Sidious? Couldn't he program images of Sidious being hurled into a mine shaft, or of that same image he could hit Maul?

It was because he knew only he could bring balance to the Force. By letting Sidious kill him he knew he could goad Sidious into a state of overconfidence after killing such a powerful Jedi master, whilst coaxing his blood brother Mace Windu into a Force Rage. Ultimately Sidious fell to his overconfidence and Mace's Force Rage made him look bad to Anakin, just as Kolar planned, cementing his transition to Darth Vader. From that point on Kolar could only dictate actions from behind the scenes, feeding telepathic insight to Force spirits such as Obi-Wan Kenobi in order to train novices like Luke. And at the end, the overconfidence he planted in Sidious had shone through once again when he turned his back on Agen's hidden protégé, Anakin Skywalker, who threw the overconfident Sheev to his untimely death.

Overall, had it not been for Agen's sacrifice that day, he never would have fulfilled his destiny as the chosen one in bringing balance to the Force. But in the end, he remained true to the Jedi way by sparing Sheev his life and carrying out his true destiny, as the Jedi's greatest Guardian Spirit.

I think that might've been a one time amp though, I mean in the ROTS novel Sidious could sense the Jedi approaching and even messed with Saesee Tiin by asking him to read his mind. The bond between Agen and Mace as strong as it was, might've been affected by Sidious's offsetting darkside abilities. I don't think its relevant what Kolar did as a force ghost, Kun blew up Nadd's ghost and he can likely blow up Kolar if he tried to turn into one and Kung fu Kun out. But your point is well seen, if he can make Sidious bloodlusted- he can sufficiently enrage Team 2 into a bloodlust and then TP them.
