Ending Damnation
This was the goal of Jesus, to end it. It still his, upon second coming He will succeed where all men have failed. The issue with the Christian Religion is that it was not sin that caused damnation, not even the original sin. Suffering is natural to all creatures due to the environment of the earth and the limitation of our protein-based bodies, echoing into a pattern distilled upon by the mind, there's a limit to how much pleasure a mind can experience before hormones neutralize the euphoria and bounce back with equal misery, in a very neurological way.
"No one can be too powerful or too beautiful without disaster befalling."
"The Third Noble Truth
The End of Suffering
After the Buddha realised the Truth about suffering and its causes, he spent six years committed to discovering a realization about the end of suffering — that, and his achievement of Nirvana, were his ultimate achievements. In those six years, the Buddha tried all the methods available to end suffering without success. Eventually He found his own solution to the problems of life and they are now the core of Buddhist thought, teachings and practice.
This is what he discovered: there is an end to suffering; it can happen to anybody, anywhere, here and now; and the key to ending all suffering is to remove all desire, ill will and ignorance.
What Happens After Suffering Ends?
After suffering, the Buddha taught, there is supreme happiness. Every step of the way to removing the causes of unhappiness brings more joy. On the path to the end of suffering, which is a path that Buddhists may spend their whole lifetimes practicing, there are levels of happiness and freedom from craving and ignorance that can be achieved. In the beginning the happiness might be through better material conditions: like more contentment, or better spiritual conditions; more peace and enjoyment of life. These are the reasons Buddhists can live happily without greed — even among people in cities overcome with craving and desire. They can live happily without anger even among people harbouring ill will. These kinds of happiness make life more rewarding and bring a sense of freedom and joy.
The Buddhist teachings say that the more people free themselves from desire, ill will and ignorance, the greater their happiness is — no matter what is going on around them. When they have completely removed desire, ill will and ignorance the Buddha says they will experience the same supreme happiness he discovered."
I can bee too powerful and far too beautiful without incurring the wrath of The Serpent, I do not need to completely remove desire in order to experience supreme happiness.
Buddha's methods were pseudo-scientific, the root cause of suffering is that it pushes us to survive, it's because the world in which we evolved has put a pressure on us to survive. That we cannot survive without pressuring ourselves to destruction in order to ensure the survival of our kind. Self-sacrifice.
Scientifically, in theory, there is a way to remove ourselves from the environment that predisposes us to suffering. This liberation is built upon all human progress, it is the culmination of the actualization of humanity as a species, through technology and science and innovation and through the betterment of society.
When Buddha was alive, there was no knowledge of artificial intelligence, and even with this knowledge, mind-uploading creates a separate, cyber-spatial from the human it's based on. Surgically replacing a neuron with a smaller, artificial neuron, will take you into technological Godhood without breaking your stream of consciousness. You will be changed forever, but a part of you will always be there.
inimalist his challenged the possibility of neuron-replacement therapy, and for good reason. Circuitry is incompatible with the bio-electric activity and communication, the synaptic activity, between neurons. A nano-scopic circuit-based neuron will fry the real neurons when put inside the brain. However, future nano-electronic communications are not necessarily limited to circuit-firing. There could be silicon-based neurons in the future, capable of slowly replacing all the neurons in our mind, there could be nano-scopic robots capable of replacing any cell composing all organs within an organism. Liberating it from evolution and suffering by integrating it into a global network of information.
There's no hedonic-capital inflicted upon freed mind, floating about in cyberspace.
