Colonial Marines versus Mobile Infantry, round two

OK kids, let's get into it.

Colonial Marines versus Mobile Infantry, round two. ONLY the CM and MI, NO outside assistance.

Scenario one: The MI are in the Star Wars universe. They have seized control of the galaxy. The CM's goal is to enter the galaxy and wipe out the MI. Taking control of the galaxy is not important, they just want to kill every MI soldier.

Scenario two: Just the opposite of scenario one, except the CM have seized control of the SW galaxy, and the MI decide to wipe the CM out.

EVERY member of the CM and MI and ALL their weapons/ships/gear/gadgetry/tech are available. Anything goes. Remember, NO outside assistance, this is MI and CM only.

Who wins?

Someone watched Starship Troopers tonight.

One glaring advantage the MI have is that they arguably have faster FTL capabilities, since the crews of their ships don't have to enter stasis pods to travel from Point A) to Point B).

This also means that any potential ship-to-ship encounter means that the UCF Fleet will be combat ready, while the CM ships have to wake their crews and such.

Then there's the fact that the humans in ST are successfully waging a war against a super-massive interstellar enemy, so it stands to reason their military is already much more massive than the humans in Alien.

Oh my, afraid I did it again. J. Rico wins.

You mean the ships that Fleet pilots? The MI have no orbital craft, all orbital craft belong to Fleet. NO outside assistance, babe.

UCF Fleets? Fleet is a completely different group than MI. No outside assistance, babe.

The MI is outclassed here, babe. All the CM have to do is nuke each planet from orbit.

Be mad.

Nope. They're all part of the same force, the FAS, son. You thought you had a slam-dunk win; but Robtard jumped and slapped that ball out of your greasy hands. Deal with it.

Afraid not, Champ. The MI and Fleet do work together, yes, just like our Navy and Marines work together. BUT, they are two separate groups.

So suck it up and accept that the CM is a superior force.

Just being curious, what year is Starship Troopers set in?

ST 2369

Aliens 2179

OK, and what is the max speed of the cruisers than carried the MI to their desired locations?

Specs on the Conestoga class Starship "Sulaco" that was shown in "Aliens."

LoL, they're lightly armed and armored transport ships. LOL!!!

Even if the CM crew were to be awake, the John A. Warren captained by the sexy Capt. Carmen Ibanez would annihilate an entire fleet of those since it's a heavily armed and armoured warship, not a space taxi

Lightly armed? Dude, you didn't even read it.

OK, time for some maths. How far is it from:

Earth to Planet P? and Earth to LV426? I got 39 light years from Earth to LV426.

It took the CM ship three weeks to travel a distance of 39 light years

It took a couple days for the ST ships to travel nearly half way across the Milky Way Galaxy

ST wins via maths as well, deal with it already

And how many light years did the MI travel? Also, what was the travel time?

According to Rob's post:

- "Half way across the Milky Way" = 50 light years.

- "a couple days" = Undefined, but definitely more than one, less than seven.

Milky Way seems to be about 100,000 light years across

And I erred, it was more than half way, looking at the map, it looks to be closer to 70-75% of the Milky Way

Um 50,000. That's of course what I meant.

So the MI has faster ships, K. Now, why didn't they just nuke the bugs from orbit?

Movie would be too short.

So the MI has faster ships

"Ridiculously and hysterically faster ships" would have been a more accurate statement

MI > CM all over the galaxy /maths

OK, so the MI have no weapons that can Nuke an entire planet from orbit. The CM do.
