Show me Mako thoughtbending lightning.
Four small fireballs... And not even from the scene in question...
Couldn't find a gif of it. Not that it matters. Having the ability to blast at his leisure > one rock.
The Lava ball was boomeranging around and was about the same size as a fire ball.
But there was only one.
Should also be pointed out Mako beat the Metalbender in h2h so again the point is moot.
Bolin... also took out the metalbender with h2h?
Not that any of this matters. You're assuming that both metalbenders were of exactly equal ability, while also disregarding Mako's relative advantages.
Don't confuse what I'm saying. Mako can hold his own alongside his brother due to his skill and precision, but in terms of raw bending power? Bolin is better, and he has the feats to back that statement up, as well as one of the most deadly and destructive bending subtypes in the series.
Bolin also had all the Airbenders + Korra and the metal benders helping during this scene.
Right, but Mako was also there, and could do... nothing. How are you not getting this?
Ok? Still 1-0 Mako.
Afraid not, and your insistence on trying to force others to consider context but refusal to do so yourself makes you a hypocrite.
I'm still waiting for how Ozai > Mako.
Both Azula and Iroh's feats are better than Mako's. Azula could cut buildings in half with her firebending.
Ozai is confirmed to be the strongest firebender in the world.
Mako even has better fire bending tech like his dagger
That's a book 1 Zuko technique. :lol
and his H2H skills to also fall back on.
He has better h2h ability sure, but Ozai is still more powerful. 👆
Ok are you just arguing for the sake of argument? Mako's Metalbender > Bolin's... Because narrative...?
Mako wasn't even shown during the fight, for all we know he was escorting Asami's team to future industries.
---------------------------------
When did Zuko create a welding torch dagger? I'm honestly trying to remember. I remember him making a fist aura but it looked different.
Ozai has no unamped feats, and I'm not sure how I'm a hypocrite. We have no evidence her standing in water helped him achieve a kill, in fact standing in the water should diffuse electricity.

See what you're doing? I'm not actually making any assumption on their relative power, but I am pointing out that you are.

Speculation. Also:
Mako is standing right next to Korra at the start.
I can't find a video of when Bolin lavabended under its foot (so the first fight), but Mako is standing right next to Bolin at about 4:36 minutes in the first episode of the finale. He was there.
Granted, I'll admit that I may be being too hard on Mako. Platinum has a really high melting point, so there's not much fire could do to it.

His first fight with Azula comes to mind.
A welding torch dagger? I don't recall.

As in, spread it out? Sure, but it travels through that water easily and travels right toward her body at several points, allowing Mako to easily hit and fry her.
Okay I wanna cool this down, I don't want to start bashing.
It's a safe assumption that 2 fodder nameless characters should be around the same level, it's about the most sterile way to determine power levels short of an actual fight.
Mako takes off running and we don't see him again until the final assault, I mean if he failed atleast we could say something but we don't see any fire or lightning.
Mako created one in book one while threatening an equalist.
Yes but that's not an amp, it's like saying a boxing glove amps a punch

Why?
Also, given their performances against Bolin, Mako, Suyin, and Lin it seems inaccurate to call them fodder.

Or we could compare their actual feats, lol.
Mako is a very skilled firebender, but in terms of raw power he is liking compared to some other master benders.

Or he knew there wasn't much he could do to it.
Mako created one in book one while threatening an equalist.
And it was something that a relatively noobish Zuko could do, lol.

No, not the same at all.
Electricity travels the easiest route. Water (or rather dirty water) is an excellent conductor, and said water traveled directly up to Ming-Hua and Ming-Hua alone. Since Ming-Hua was suspending herself in the air via water tentacles, when the electricity reached her it had nowhere else to go (except back down to the water, and then back to her lol), and as such stayed within her body, more easily killing her. Mako now had a huge target and he could hold the lightning on her until she lost consciousness/died. Which he did.

By attacking its core with lightning, lol.
Or was Bolin supposed to hit it with the rock?
It's possible but again it's speculation.
Maybe, but given Mako's character, if there was something he could have done, why wouldn't he?
So I'm missing your final point? Mako generated the Lightning that killed Ming and water doesn't amp so...
That it conducted all the electricity up to Ming-Hua's body. The lightning itself doesn't become more potent, but more of it is inside her for a long period of time.
Lightning blew up the Root, it overloaded and blew it.
Or like I said he was doing something else like escorting the non bender team through heavily guarded streets. Either way it's speculation.
No offense but your point is kinda made null with the fact we know that Mako can keep the stream up for crazy long times.
In book 1 the LoK benders were weaker, but by book 4 they've caught up a lot. Scale's closer, and have developed some new techniques/refined old ones (Metalbender in Aang's day was something only Toph could do, and while any metalbender is still good, the technique is now accessible to a lower level, for example> Lightning seems to be similar).
Suki's never faced an electroglove, but she has faced chiblockers, which are also 'don't let them touch you' types. Though it depends if she realized the level of threat.
On Mako, there is the issue that for most of book 4, he was sitting back and babysitting, not as active as Korra or Bolin. So in that sense he may be a bit behind, though he is very good still.
I think it's close enough that neither team would win all the time... the Gaang is more used to fighting together so may have an edge, but on the flip side a good electroshock from Asami could easily turn things around.
