I don't know, I'm on the fence on the 2 hr things. Some movies certainly require more than 2 hrs to get their point across. As shared SUCCESSFUL (eat it DC) Universes like Marvel's and Legendarys Monsterverse get bigger and bigger, with more characters and such, then their big movies, need that extra space, but not their smaller movies.
So basically, I'm ok with an Avengers Infinity War or Endgame being almost 3 hours, or a Godzilla: Destroy all monsters being almost 3 hours but not a Captain Marvel or Rodan solo being more than 2 hrs. If that makes sense.
And by the way, I love Kong, I absolutely adore anytime they explore the creatures on Skull Island, I just feel that after battling somebody Like King Ghidorah, a 3 headed, golden, space dragon that creates giant hyper, electrical hurricanes simply by flying and literally dwarfs Godzilla in size and has what looks like over a 1200 foot wingspan, fighting a 200-300 foot tall monkey is more of a downgrade.
