Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

Skull Island is mentioned several times and it's shown on maps and Kong is mentioned. It's also in the end credits

Spoiler:
Kong's back is shown in the film
Saw it tonight, enjoyed it, hilariously ridiculous, it channelled men in rubber suits from the past.

So basically Kong is f*cked.

Without spoiling it is there any Kong easter eggs in it?

He is referenced several times and a post credit.

Yeah, no matter how big he grows by the final battle Godzilla would literally turn Kong into a puddle jusr by standing there.

As of right now even if Kong grew to Godzillas height there is literally nothing he could do that would hurt him

Awesome Kaiju flick, every bit as good as Skull Island was.

He did. All I wanted was a place to come to to talk about movies and things related to them.

What did I get. I get a Retarded Anal Focused Rage Monkey running around throwing temper tantrums and throwing his opinion around like shit at like a uncontrolled monkey with the runs.

Quanchi can go **** himself with his opinions and so can the Mods that let him do it.

So yes. I Rage Quit KMC.

You shouldn’t quit just because of one retard.

Ok, so I saw this and it was every bit as good as I expected it to be. The things I liked the worst are nitpicks about typical american writting and badly developped characters, but the latter can be justified due to the film's fast pace. It's also weird to find a kaiju film when the Young kid protagonist is more enjoyable and relatable than the adult human protagonist.

For me the monsters were just spot on: they gave Mothra and Rodan a proper introduction scene and actual battle scenes where they looked decent (no monster came out looking as fodder). I would've loved to have them longer on film, but they were employed to great effect. Godzilla had nice moments and an interest variety to his powers, I like that they kept his trademark brutality and that he and King Kong keep getting "Fatality" moments. The other monsters were more fun, but Godzilla still developped a personality (he seems to be the straight man of the Monsterverse). He also happens to have the sh_ttiest character design of them all, I'm very satisfied with how they redesigned all the other kaiju and I would love to see more of them.

Now, this incarnation of King Ghidorah really stole the film. He had crazy abilities, he had a wicked gameplan that made a good sense of his name with his "false king" gimmick and his battle movement was well translated to the screen. The plot really presented him as a legitimate threat. I just kind of wish they gave him

Spoiler:
a second kaiju kill under his name earlier in the film
.

Mothra came out looking good and had a fully revamped move set too. As a fan of hers I loved finally seeing her on screen and paying proper respect to her whole mythos (the pacifist, the life larva and the symbol of resurrection). I loved that they made Rodan so bird-like this time around.

Great improvement over Godzilla 2014. The amount of fanservice was ludicrous. Skull Island definitively had better action and human characters, but Godzilla 2 takes it by having better monsters, more crazy sh_t going on and more variety in its fights. In any case the Monsterverse is going to outlive the Dark Universe and might be a match for the best of the DC Cinematic Universe.

Haven’t seen it yet. So this is mom Mothra?

They don't confirm

Spoiler:
Mothra has an egg in the film, but during the credits they show a journal headline saying a similar egg has been found and questioning whether it's Mothra's
. No idea if that will be used but the intention was clearly to remain on the theme.

Thanks for that, been saving myself from spoilers of any sort. Hope to see it tmr.

Hope you enjoy it Squall. The critics all tore this apart and really hurt its box office. Which is sad because fans are stil sitting at 90 percent.

You gotta realise both Godzilla & Kong are big franchises with an equally big fanbase.

One isn't going to beat the other.

There will be the initial grudge fight with no definitive victor ending with a team-up battle against a 3rd antagonist.

Kong better get a big power up because he has no chance at all right now.

100% for me, loved it

I know. The director of this movie is a writer for gvsk so he knows full well what kind of fighter he has to make Kong. He even speaks about it in a recent interview. Speed, intelligence, tools and weapons.

So #Kongw/stormbreakerconfirmed

Glad you liked it broly.

On TohoKingdom the fanbase is super nitpicky. Most loved it but some are mad because there was the word f$$k in a Godzilla movie. Said it took him out of the whole experience. Ridicilous.

Always think its funny when people think foul language takes them out of a movie.

It's similar to the reaction the Star Trek fan base has.

Never once cared for critics once I started to enjoyed watching movies and shows.

Saw Jon Carpenters The Thing a few years ago, and I loved it. Did a few research, and realized the critics hated. Many of favorite cult classics are hated by critics, yet loved by fans. That’s why I like browsing the movie section when I’m interested in a film.

Can’t ****ing wait!

What was the end

Spoiler:
amped Red Godzilla
called?

I've been hearing King of the Monsters has the same problem the 2014 movie has if not worse with it's human cast taking the camera away from the monsters right as they're about to do something. Can anyone confirm this?

The first part of that is kind of true...in particular the dialogue that the actors are given to work with is downright awful. The second part is false as each of the monster fights each have a build, climax, and conclusion.

Saw it...eh, it was worth it for the monster fights.
