Yeah the Blood Bible was a book Strange had access to way back in NA #3 I think, as it was an option when they went to the Earth where Galaktus was eating. I think it's just a very dangerous spell that he can do with preparation rather than any power upgrade.

But yeah currently Strange definitely tops this, what he did to the Avengers team was pretty damn impressive, along with his absolute trashing of the Doctor Fate expy from The Great Society.

on rereading it, it makes more sense than it originally did. i understand my initial confusion though. norn asks if strange knows the words--strange utters words of power. the norn's helmet has a single eye (the same eye/helmet that represents the black priests) and strange himself 'grows' a single eye and then of course, the ending where he says he gave up the last of his soul for power, when we previously see him trying to barter his WHOLE soul for power. and we also didn't see the entity refuse to take the REMAINDER of his soul, so it wasn't completely unreasonable to think strange, off-panel, bartered the rest.

the parallels are actually.....convoluted and unnecessary imo as it really does leave itself open to confusion. it will be interesting to see the explanation regarding how strange learned the words of the black priest. maybe something he claimed from norn will prove to be the answer....?

I'm guessing when he took the helmet from Norn he used it to find the Priests and then learn the words.

The Black Priests' words of power are all squiggly green-tinted gibberish. Dr. Strange's words are that of the Blood Bible. So when the Norn taunts Strange by asking if he's heard the Black Priests's words of power, Stephen basically tells him to go f@ck himself by retorting with completely different incantations.

Norn: "Do you know the words of the Black Priests, Sorcerer Supreme? Have you heard them?"
Dr. Strange: "K'ooth Ul D'ayn. Yool D'ayn Hat Whuurl. Do you know these words, charlatan? Of course you don't."

-roughly translated-

Norn: "Can yo dig my rhymes, bro? You even lift, brah?"
Dr. Strange: "I'm spouting my own dank rhymes. Wut you got to say about my flow now, n1gga? Dat's right, stfu."

Basically, Dr. Strange two-pieced him in free-style. /thug4life

I love how ethnic that post made me feel.
