I get that people would want an Asian actress and thats cool with me too, but she doesnt look all that Asian to begin with.

From the Japanese take on things in that link, The person says

"She has the cyberpunk feel. And we never imagined it would be a Japanese actress in the first place"

^ Idk if that's really the angle the director was going for then couldn't there have been anyone else cast as Motoko? Why not Olivia Munn or some other late 20-mid 30's actress.

For all this publicity this casting decision has created this adaptation better be awesome.

Lol...as much as people in the west liked to complain about that, The Japanese aren't exactly loosing their shit over it, They're okay it

looks like its going to have some of the Lesbian love scenes like it does in the manga.
