Respect Captain Britain, Protector of the Omniverse

Respect Captain Britain

Proud, headstrong to a fault, heroic in spite of himself, painfully aware of his flaws and no less human for all his power and the responsibilities it thrusts upon him

It has arrived, the new Captain Britain respect thread. The scans in the old one are all dead and it wasn't so much as a complete and organized respect thread as it was an attempt by Bran to show what Captain Britain could do. When you post feats in this thread I ask that you use the same format as me, which will be feat description and issue number followed by a thumbnail. I also request that you only post feats of 616 Captain Britain.

In this thread I have gathered almost all Captain Britain's fights and accomplishments. I have chosen not to include his very brief tenure as King of the Otherworld as it doesn't have too much bearing on what people consider “standard” Captain Britain. Also, while I've chosen to include feats of the original incarnation, where he used his scepter and such, that is just so that most people will get a feel for the character and what he did as an inexperienced super-hero. Back then he was still learning the ropes and was basically UK's answer to Spider-Man and Captain America.

Captain Britain is still capable of just about everything that his younger self was capable of, only he defaulted to a more strength-based fighting-style as his strength and durability increased, as opposed to his younger spidey-like self. Because of his many different incarnations, I've also chosen to have one combined section for speed, reflexes and agility. This is how I've divided up the respect thread.

I. Captain Britain 101
II. Strength
III. Durability
IV. Forcefield
V. Speed, Flight and Reflexes
VI. Fighting Skills
VII. Misc feats
VIII. Fights

So without further ado, let us begin.

Brian Braddock first received his powers after a motorocycle accident when escaping an attack on Darkmoon Nuclear Research Facility. He was approached by Merlyn and Roma who sensed the nobility in his heart and was given the choice between the Amulet of Right or the Sword of Might.
Here he is presented with the choice, from Captain Britain #1:

Regardless of whether you choose the amulet or the sword, you are granted superhuman physique and often a weapon. This is not a choice between good and evil, but a choice between reason and violence. Brian Braddock chose the amulet and received his powers shortly thereafter. As Roma notes this is the choice of right and might:

Initially Brian had to touch the amulet in order to transform into Captain Britain, but it was later revealed that the amulet and his suit were mere conduits for the power in him:

He derives his powers from the energy-matrix that exists between the Otherworld and England, and relies on the suit in order to focus his energies when abroad, from Excalibur #46:

Currently Captain Britain's powers are tied to his confidence, which means that they go up and down depending on his emotions. Very similar to Gladiator's powers it seems:

Captain Britain has faced severe injuries and death quite a few times. He's also lost his powers several times over but almost always tackles those losses like a champ. Whenever he dies he is generally revived by Merlyn and amplified in some way:

First resurrection by Merlyn:
