Ummm it was focused on him... When they were exchanging blows in the mall... That fight sequence took just as long as the sequence where the T-1000 puts Arnie down. He had plenty of time.. same amount but couldn't get the job done. Point is, The T-1000 was thwarted at turn after turn or plane outmaneuvered by Arnie over and over again. Let's not even get into the Lava putting the T-1000 down but couldn't put down the t-800 in Salvation. People keep saying the T-800 beat Marcus.. it didn't. Shit even John Conner was beating a t-800 that seemed more powerful than the one that took out the T-1000.
I'm responding to a claim that the only reason the T-1000 didn't put down Arnie earlier is that he didn't have the time cause he was focused on John. Which is flat out wrong as I've shown. He was focused on Arnie in the mall and couldn't put him down.
You can scream PIS or CIS with any movie by that standard. Sorry doesn't work that way

You really need to rewatch T2. The T-1000 and the T-800 slammed each other into some walls, then the T-1000 just tossed Arnie aside through a window and went back to persuing John, his primary target. Yeah, and the T-1000 was fine, which is the point, Marcus can't hurt him.
He was thwarted by circumstances, if you put a T-800 and a T-1000 in an empty field the T-1000 will win 10/10. It wasn't nearly the same thing, the T-1000 was dropped in a giant pool of molten metal, the T-800 prototype was just had some dropped on it and was immediatly cooled. Also, the T-800 in T2 killed himself via the same pool of molten led as the T-1000 fell into.

Ur point. You are relying on story to prove a point. His mission/programming was to kill John. It was not to destroy Arnold. When Arnold got in his way for the last time he put him down hard.
Marcus has a beating heart. He dies via knife through the heart. And Johnny boy ain't gonna be there to save him this time.

Point is, When Arnie crossed him again when he was put down... He was put down in the same amount of time that they were fighting at the mall. THE CLEAR difference is by that point Arnie has one arm and has already taken a ton of punishment including limping. THAT is why he was able to be put down so easily. As we see earlier... He couldn't do anything to Arnie to really hurt him. The difference was time or focus.. the main difference was Arnie was half of what he was.
The point is... there are circumstances in EVERY fight... Real life.. comic book... Movie fights. In every medium imaginable with fights there are circumstances.. environment... emotions etc etc. They aren't fighting in a desert here... The point is, the T-1000 was thwarted time after time by a T-800... Marcus is better than that.

Actually even if they are fighting in a volcano or steel factory, I see no reason why Marcus would have a higher chance at winning. I don't remember him being more immune to molten metal any more than the T-1000.

The T-800 did little more than stall the T-1000 in their encounters. It never "beat" the T-1000 until the end which was full of PIS.
In the two outright fights they had, the T-1000 was clearly superior. In the mall Arnorld got tossed aside and at the end the T-1000 straight up "killed" him.
Also you are forgetting, Marcus when toe to toe with the T-800 was was beaten. Killed even.
