medication solves a lot more than you think. so does seeking professional help. take it from someone who's seen 90% of their family go in and out of psyche-wards. being institutionalized doesn't mean the end of your life. more likely than not, if you do well and follow what help the doctors give you, you'll be out in 2-3 weeks. i can't even count the number of times that's happened to the people i know.
