*edit: ^ I see what you mean. I agree. It's quite simple. They're both the same character, only "post-retcon" Beyonder had been de-powered.
Beyonder still came from the Beyond Realm, but now as piece of it, rather than being its whole.
They call this "piece" a "Cube being." That's it.The Hickman portrayal (child unit) can still be interpreted several ways imo so I'm not going there yet.
It could be that Beyonder is/was a young Beyonder or it could be how Hickman defines Cube beings.
Imo, Beyonder was always a special case I've said it for years
and it can be proven on panel, (operator616 and I have done so)
so it wouldn't surprise me if Beyonder was greater than a Cube being ergo a young "Beyonder?"
Which was in retort to Carver implying that even if what he did was complete truth, that he would still be lesser than the Beyonders. Because something has to give there, they can't both be true.
Beyonder is easy to fit in with the retcon. Beyonder's history pre retcon would be something like he created the Beyonders and they ascended past him to a degree he became a child unit compared to them. Also all the cosmics got an upgrade.
But yeah, it remains to be seen of the Beyonder. I guess we'll find out if we should worry about his history at all in a week and a half. Though I guess he could always still appear even if he isn't Rape Addict
