I will give the show a chance, but looking at the picture of that girl in costume..to me it looks like someone who is on their way to a cosplay event as Supergirl instead of something for a tv show.

If we go by certain post crisis versions of Kara she is also supposed to be nigh anoxerically skinny. Her only weaknesses were kryptonite, red sun light radiation, magic, and hamburgers.
