They technically have the same power. The difference is that Djinn *typically* cannot act independently--they first need an order from their 'master'. Thunderbolt, for example, can't do anything without Jakeem's say so.

But in the 5d imps world the djinns still attain they're powers? if they are like the genies to the imps, then they should be above regular imps.

Djinn are like genies to regular people. They are just a subgroup of the Imp/5D race.
