In Britain for example you've got 3-4 as many muslims going to the mosque as you've got christians going to church.
The thing is that people don't go out of their way to sign out of church registry, even if they don't believe in god, don't go to church, etc.
This is why you'll see inflated membership numbers contrasted with actual practice.
