Golden Freddy is one of the kids I believe. Phone Guy, if the fan theories of him being the killer are correct, resides in the Springtrap suit.
That theory has always been stupid, Phone Guy dies in FNaF 1

Purple guy doesn't know how to safely operate the spring locked suits, while Phone guy does. They're two different people.
Purple Guy used one of said suits to lure his victims. He had no trouble with it at the time. Phone Guy knew what would trigger the spring lock but I don't think he expected the secret room's ceiling to drip water and didn't notice since he was preoccupied trying to get away from angry spirits.

This is highly unlikely because of multiple reasons. First of all can you constantly here knocking on a metal door during the call where phone guy dies, which there are none in the safe room, implying that he is actually in the night guard room (where the game takes place). Also you can clearly hear that there is an animatronic coming for him, the “Freddy song” even plays before the attack. And lastly, he is recording a message while being attacked, which he would only do in the room with the actual phone, also purple guy is very visably not recording a message when you walk in to the safe room in the FNAF 3 mini game. This means that the death of purple guy and the death of phone guy were 2 different occasions.
Phone guy asks us to check in “one of the suits” in the backroom and mentions that he always wondered what was in “all of those heads” which implies that there are multiple suits and animatronic heads, meaning the employees only room in FNAF 1 (aka the backstage room or suit room) on cam 5, not the safe room where you can see in the FNAF 3 minigame only has 1 suit in it.

Maybe he had the common sense to run away? In-game, the Freddy song can ensure instant death but we don't see what happened to Phone Guy exactly so it could've ended for him differently. Why Mike (security guard in FNAF1) can die on the spot is proof of his arrogance not taking the danger seriously (no doubt why he still worked four more nights. That or someone poured super glue on his seat) whereas Phone Guy did even if it was too late.

That throws a wrench in the theory I'll admit.
