Hermione knows far more spells, but she has never shown the aptitude for dueling that Harry has.

She is smarter, but has a lot less raw power. In other words..Harry would be quite dangerous if he had Hermoines drive to learn spells.

Yep, so people laugh at Voldemort being "defeated" by Harry, but he was somewhat of a magical prodigy. It's just he didn't have a personality like Dumbledore or Hermoine that made him care a lot about learning more and more spells, etc.

Though of course it still mostly came down to luck and a stupid villain.

He never defeated him. Wand shenanigans is what killed Voldemort. The other time Harry beat him...I assume you mean when he was a baby, but that wasn't Harry beating him. His dead parents quite literally save him numerous times from Voldemort. This wouldn't need to be a thing that happens if Harry could legitimately defeat him.
