I wonder if the telekinetic disparity is worth mentioning, to be honest. Lightning can (hopefully) be repelled on a lightsaber blade.
In Force only, though, Kyle's lack of response for Nihl's Lightning means he loses.

Something about Caedus being wary of Kyle, Luke making Kyle the battlemaster for his Jedi Order, and Kyle being on par as a duelist with someone who briefly held their own against Luke has me more impressed with him than with Nihl, even if Nihl is one of my favorite One Sith.

I don't think he was wary of him so much as acknowledging him as the most skilled duelist at that point among that strike team. He beat him quite rapidly

He beat him, but it actually took some time and his method of doing so was hovercar.
Basically, Kyle's worth worry because if he's in a group with other high level fighters (higher than the strike team he was with), he can contribute a lot and it'd be hard to focus enough effort on just him.
