I went ahead and messaged Troy Denning asking if Jaina could beat Caedus without Luke's assistance on neutral ground.

I wonder what he's gonna say if anything.

...If he says yes, we're all going to have to drastically improve our opinions of the Sword of the Jedi.

I'll post the exact statement when I get off work, but he more or less intended her to lose the first fight and then "realize" and correct her mistake in their final duel. Not that it's a big surprise to anyone but apart from not remembering the specifics of the fight, he strongly implied she wasn't on his level
