Big plot hole in Star Wars comic
In the canon comic by Jason Aaron called Star Wars, Luke journeys back to Tatooine, and Obi-Wan's house to look for something to help him become a Jedi. He hits the jackpot when he finds a tome that says For Luke. That's nice and all, but why didn't Obi-Wan give it to him when he was still alive? It seems pretty foolish for Obi-Wan to leave it their.

Nice to see that new-canon is still gleefully pillaging old-canon for ideas. 🙄

That is something they do A LOT, but tbf this time, I believe there was actually a deleted scene in ROTJ involving that. So maybe the idea originated with one of the movies in this case and not the EU.

Because Luke finding a book is the most original idea anyone has ever conceived and ever will conceive, and the writers of this comic should pay royalties?

I guess I was thinking of this passage from SOTE:
His teacher hadn't left much behind, not for a man who had once been Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Knight and a general in the Clone Wars. Perhaps the most valuable thing was the old and intricately carved boa-wood trunk and its contents, including an ancient leather-bound book. A book that contained all manner of wondrous things for a would-be Jedi, such as plans for building a lightsaber.
