Final Fantasy VII Remake

Depends on how they nickle and dime it.

I don't care how standard the practice of microtransactions are, that sort of thing just cheapens nostalgia trips.

I’m seeing a lot of people complaining that the first release of Remake will be only Midgar until the chase to the end of the highway after the escape from Shinra building.

I mean, that’s quite a ways into the game, and that was just the original release. Do you know how much new shit they can put into this remake?

I’m nothing but excited!

If they've honestly put a full game's worth of content in to it, then I won't complain about that at least. A fully fleshed-out Midgar could be awesome.

I hope the cross dressing side mission is included.

I don't think we'll get a 1:1 faithful recreation of it. One the one hand, showing some of that content with blocky sprites lets you get away with a lot more than hyper-detailed, high-poly models would. That, and Squeenix has been very trigger happy lately when it comes to censorship, partially I'm guessing because of Sony being such absolute shitebags about stuff.

I am hoping that they keep a lot of the oddball humour that was in 7 though, so fingers crossed.

For anyone interested, Tokyo Game Show is this weekend, and Square has said that there'll be new FF7 stuff at it like Shinra character reveals/designs.

They might remove it because of stupid people crying about everything.

Look at Siren from 8 remastered. They censored her because morons started bitching about it.

Just looked that up i have, Covered up her genital area and yet Shiva gets a free pass.

Reportedly because of the ethics department complaining.

So even Japan is suffering through a rash of like departments with way too much power that stick their nose in everything? (Here in the states, it tends to be equity departments that are the problem.)

I wonder if materia, weapons, and summons will be DLC.

God, I hope not.

Watch them make weapon parts, or the best junctions, iap in the 8 remake.

Preordering stuff does get you extra summons that aren't in the base game, but they're also summons that were never in the original, so I feel like it's not as bad.

As long as it's extra stuff that wasn't in the original, I don't mind tbh.

Duuuuuude!

Want!

I'm at the stage now where I feel like it's almost too good to be true. Like it's either going to be terrible in some way, or that it's all some elaborate hoax.

How can it look THAT GOOD?!

That cross dressing tease. lol

Glad they are keeping some of the goofier stuff like that and the frog spell.

I liked that it showed Tifa doing the pull-ups too, so it's not just Cloud doing everything to get them in to Corneo's mansion.

Plus, darts (and I'm assuming other new minigames).

Damn that's awesome. Ifrit's design is amazing and I love the summons are, well, actual summons that fight alongside you rather then just powerful spells.

Yeah, it looks so, so good.

TGS Details:

-Summons do have an "ultimate attack" but it's up to you to use it (Summons will have abilities that you consume with ATB uses). If you do, though, they leave the fight straight after.
-"Classic" Mode. The auto-attacking is done by AI, with your only interaction being using abilities when the ATB gauge is full. This is their way of replicating the turn-based combat of the original.
-Aerith/Aeris's standard attack is now a ranged magic bolt instead of physically hitting with her staff. A really welcome change imo, but I'm guessing it was necessitated by them changing the way combat works.

Tifa looks like so much ****ing fun to play as.
