Why does the Emperor care about surviving Jedi?

In the old EU, Palpatine didn't really care about any surviving Jedi after the Empire rose. Now in Rebels, he seems eager to find survivors through Ahsoka Tano. Why? What's his angle?

He had a vision that the "Children of the Force" would be his undoing.

They are still potential threats.

Old EU, he didn't care *that* much, but still maintained the Inquisition and such to either kill or turn who he could. He just doesn't view them as as big a threat with their order broken and the big names mostly killed.

He has an entire Empire to run, hunting down some Jedi who are frightened and on the run kind of takes back seat to his other responsibilities

Who do you think Palpatine is? You think he'd place the duties of his empire above a vision that showed him the end of his own life? Please.

Nah, it's not fear per say, more like an understanding that if one planet decides to rebel others will follow.

Once again, story line from The Last Of The Jedi.

Then again, after weeks of disrupting the Empire's facilities on lothal, a place that is of great significance to the Emperor apparently, you would assume that the Emperor would be quite pissed.

I think it's his operation on Lothal that Sheev is worried about, not a bunch of ragtag rebels.

Also, he regarded even Ventress as a threat, so it is no wonder that he would be concerned with surviving groups of Jedi.

The new canon they seemed more concerned with hunting the organizated rebellion than talk ng out small fry like Kanan. He does seem concerned with someone like Kenobi but there is a bigger picture to examine

As a Banite Sith, I'm sure Sidious is more than aware of the magnitude of change even a small number of Force users can usher.

Well to be fair he considered Dooku+Ventress as a potential threat.

After Ventress went off on her own he didn't seem to care what she was up to.

He was concerned that Dooku was training her as a legitimate apprentice, yeah.

Basically, lone force users don't really matter. Push 'em into hiding and they'll die off. Organizations of force users must not be allowed, though.

His own death was a consequence of just two escaping, it's not surprising that Sidious would dedicate resources to hunting down Jedi. Even if Sidious didn't know exactly how many Jedi survived or how strong they were he wouldn't risk having a couple dozen Jedi master level adversaries around.

Additionally, the very act of hunting them has value. It gives him a reason to have organizations like the Inquisition (which was formed when the Senate was still around, so had to have some paper justification), and having live dangerous enemies of the state allows him to crack down on groups he can peg as sympathizers.

He wants all potentially dangerous ones dead, but he also wants to milk things for all they're worth.

Because a single Jedi could change an entire war. Revan Himself consider that the weaken Jedi council was more a threat to his plan than the entire republic....

That's because that council had about the same amount of Jedi as he had. It has nothing to do with a single Jedi, but thousands. Situation is not comparable in the slightest.

Once again, the end of the Banite lineage should be more than familiar with the amount of galactic change even a small number of force users can bring upon them.

The Sith flourished in secret until they conquered the Galaxy. It would be foolish to dismiss the surviving Jedi as unimportant.

Good point, though Sith arrogance can often get in the way of that kind of thinking.
