You think they can pass 8?

They should stop at 8. Hero isn't skilled enough to defeat either, and Cade can't take a majority over Dooku due to a skill disparity.

So how come they might get to 9?

I personally object to the notion of the Hero being unable to defeat Maul - he has a pretty good chance of doing so, I'd say. Cade might lose to the Count but at least he would win some rounds.
