Goku vs Beerus

Goku (SSGSS)

vs

Bills

Two fights

1. 70% Beerus
2. 100% Berrus

1. Goku
2. Beerus

I think he has a good shot of beating him at 100%.

He stalemated him in the first movie at base form when Bills was at 70%

Yea that 70% thing makes no sense. That would make SSGSSJ ~20% increase in power. That is pretty shitty if you ask me compared to a normal SSJ x50 increase.

Agreed, people seem to no accept these new power increases.

Except Toriyama confirmed for us that red!SSJG Goku possesses roughly 60% of Beerus's power. Blue!SSJG Goku, according to Whis, would have been able to defeat 70% Beerus IIRC.

What people fail to understand is that post-bog Base!Goku isn't ~ to red!SSJG Goku. Goku's normal SSJ state (50x amp) is significantly inferior to red!SSJG in the movie, and the blue!SSJG is a healthy 10-15% stronger than that.

All in all, we're probably looking at an amp somewhere in the ballpark of 90x for blue!SSJG tbh. Which still clocks under full-power Beerus level. 👆

People need to get the old multipliers out of their heads. According to the official Jap-dub/translation, BSSJG doesn't glean a huge power increase over SSJG...
Goku(after transforming into BSSJG): "It's hard to explain, but it's basically a Super Saiyan with the power of Super Saiyan God."

So it's not necessarily granting loads more power than SSJG--just channeling and using it better(SSJG had a distinct time limit, for example, while BSSJG does not.) But since Goku and Vegeta have been training under Whis since the events of BoG, and the battle itself is touted as "surpassing gods", I'm sure they've become stronger than Goku was as a SSJG in Battle of Gods. I'd have them each around an 8.5(relative to Beerus' 10.)

Anywho, it would have taken BSSJG Goku AND BSSJG Vegeta just to match 100% Beerus--so obviously he's > either of them individually. IOW, Goku takes the 1st battle, and Beerus takes the 2nd.

I agree with this

Ahh that makes sense! Thats for the clarification.

But hey why would the ssj multiplier all of the sudden not work the same? wouldnt it just multiply the ssg power by x50?

Because we saw in BoG that base Goku was about equal to SSG Goku. So it seems like a pretty shitty buff if you ask me

Base Goku was easily stomped by 70% Beerus. SSJG was definitely >.

As for the 50x multiplier: yes, Goku likened BSSJG to a Super Saiyan, but I think that was just to make it easier for Freeza to grasp. Remember, though: this is an entirely different form then we've seen before. The multiplier(s) of old are no longer applicable.

It seems like all BSSJG did was take Goku from base, back up to SSJG-levels... And thanks to Whis' training sessions since BoG, Goku had likely expanded on said God-power a bit(which is why I have him around an 8.5 now.)

sounds right to me. BSSJG is just a more perfected version of SSG 👆

^ Exactly.

That said, I'd liken it SSJG to a n00b SSJ, and BSSJG to a FPSSJ.

Makes perfect sense

Question.

How was SSG only equal to 70% of Beerus. He only showed 80% of his power before running out of time.

The time-limit didn't really matter, because Goku absorbed the Goldly ki into himself. That's why his ki-level hardly dropped at all when he reverted back to his base level.

70% Beerus was always comfortably beyond him.

He's not.

Goku at 80% was getting stomped by Bills at 70%, or more likely LESS then 70% because Bills stepped up his game at Goku's admission to holding back.

We really don't know what the bare minimum power for Bills = Goku's 100%, because they were never equal. Not once did Goku have the upper hand or even put up a real fight.

that was kinda my point.

also were they talking about total power used by Beerus?

Because technically Beerus could have used up 70% of his total power while only operating at say 30% of his max for an extended period of time.

By all implications, they were talking about the amount of power Beerus had to access during the fight. Same thing applies to when SSJG Goku said he was only using 80% of his power early on.

Liken it to what 4th form Freeza did on Namek. First he only used/accessed 3% of his total power, then 50%, then ~70%, then 100%.
