Yeah the biggest hurdle I am facing is finding a reliable judges. We dont have enough of them, and its killing the pace, and quality of the match.
Anyhow I sent a PM to Ahbi, and Beats. If they are ok with it. I can move forward with what I have. If they are not, I can stand in as a judge or look for someone else.
I have a question since I didn't judge before. I read through the match, look at the scans and try to make a decision as unbiased as possible, this takes time but I do it in time. Once I am done I try to write down my reasoning but is it ok or should it be longer, I just saw Scotts Judgement and was kind of ashamed 😄.
@prof lol your rulings are fine. all we ask for as people involved, is that you show clear proof you've READ the match. i've always been partial to the streams of consciousness style (i use them, and digi does as well). a couple comments and thoughts on each post as you read, then a quick summary of the biggest points and a reason why you chose the way you did. oas takes things to the extreme but he'll never be criticized for not putting in an honest effort, but really, it shouldn't take more than a 2-3 decent paragraphs to get down a well reasoned and respected vote.
thing is, we (or most of us) put in....a LUDICROUS amount of time and effort into coming up with ideas and support. i'm ashamed of the number of books i read prepping for these matches. lol hours and hours. but i LOVE it. i find it engaging and just tons of fun--when i have the time.
but when you put in that much effort, and someone is judging it and you feel like they never even really READ the match (or understood the big points) well, it sounds silly but it can be frustrating as all hell.
i'm competitive by nature and play a variety of sport at a variety of levels. for example, i just played in a very strong volleyball tournament on mon. it was a 106F outside while we played and we lost 2 extremely close games in the semi final. we played all day and i was eff'ing SPENT by the end.
i was more disappointed in my loss to scoob than i was in my loss in that RL tourney. lol
so, while this whole thing may seem silly to many, it matters to the people involved quite a bit. i just wish all judges would understand and respect that. and if you CAN'T put in an honest effort, TELL someone so someone else can do it. it's only fair to the people involved.
Yeah, overly long judgements aren't necessary. And at times they may actually slow things down. All that's needed is a firm understanding of the match, along with opinions and judgements that show a comprehension of strategies and scans used.
As someone who has also put hours and hours into tourney prep, thorough judging is both courteous and takes much less time than I think some realize.

bw was (i think) alluding to squall's vote....which was essentially the same thing as lp did. saying he had "science and magic and was different" in no way indicates the match was read through with any thoroughness (apologies if it was....). even scoob agrees that that judgement was pretty meaningless. 😬now, that said, my time is extremely ltd atm so i'm not asking for anything, but if this were 4 weeks ago, when i was bored out of my mind, i def would have had a large issue with that ruling--as would most i think.

I didn't say "meaningless" ... obviously it was the right decision.
😛
But yeah, I'm of the same mind as Digi and others in that we, the contestants, are pouring a lot of time and effort into these matches, it would be appreciated if the judgements could reflect that... not that you have to go "full angry Scot" or anything.
Leo knows that I was burned by this type of action in the past (recent past) and that I may not have taken it too well initially.

No amping. You can create tech for the team, but it must be low Herald and below.Yes with the option of 3 man team. Or Fuse + 1. This gets decided in your prep.
