He was far more powerful why did they both fly back instead of just Obi. The explosion from their telekinetic powers clashing and neither one overpowering the other is what caused them to fly back. Anakin is more powerful than raw force power. Not actual power.
How he really his force defenses are broken by even low level force weilders, such as barris Offee and Ventress. His displays of power have mostly been aggressive. He runs into things without thinking some of the time.
