Comic Luther though Multiversal powers had a set limit. For the second he thought of doing anything negative, he lost his powers.
That Luthers powers were so great that he stopped Death itself from carrying out her job. That wasn't just a Death avatar, but Death Of The Endless herself.

In Super, he just needed a simple kiaiho... or at least that's what it looked like... Galan was almost sure... but I see wikia now calls it the "Earth Breaker" technique:

It's still a Kai attack though. Do you think Goku can generate far more power with a mere Kai blast?
Interesting enough Jiren and his squad are very similar to Superman and the JL, combined with the Power Ranger theme, other Universes are inspired too by Sailor Moon for example. I think Jiren ist Toeis approach to a Superman vs Goku fight. A physically superior opponent, near invulnerable who fights for justice against our little Wukong/Superman hybrid, who was send from a doomed planet to become the greatest hero of his earth/universe.
Sure, Jiren will lose in the end, the focus is still on Goku but it gives us a hint on how powerful they think Superman would be compared to Goku.
As for current Superman, well in an all out fight he would annihilate both Jiren and Goku at the same time. Rebirth Superman tanked blasts that had the full power of Speed Force+Green LanternCPB+all Atlantean magic+the timeflow of the entire universe and he did it too good for my taste. The blasts from Goku and Jiren were weak, their destructive potential not very impressive. DB lives from the power scaling which contradicts itself so often that it's laughable. Goku can be hurt by bullets, lasers and all fights are just a comparision of who has more mana(ki) to overcome the opponents defenses or deplete his energies.
I am glad to see though that a phyiscal Superman like char like Jiren shows that my mana(ki) DB reasoning was spot on.

I honestly doubt that a punch from Goku would phase Superman (if serious), amped by Ki it would be more interesting but me thinks by far not enough. The invulnerability level of both are soooooo far apart.
Goku, Bullets and Laser can hurt him, can tank Solar Destroying Ki-Blasts though.
Superman, can tank Universe destroying attacks from all sources, energy, magic etc. and physical attacks from beings that are physically billions of times stronger than Goku or Jiren.
Now, the offensive output is slightly different. Goku has no regard for human life and lives to fight, so he goes all out if given the chance. He can dish out Solar Busting Ki attacks maybe in Super but they are not that focused and he needs to charge for it. I think it might phase Supes to some degrees.
Superman holds back most of the time, a man living in a paperworld syndrome. If he goes all out, his energy attacks as a side effect oneshot heralds, without even hitting them, his direct hits, energy and physical shred through trans and skyfather beings like through paper.
Speed is on Supermans side, movement and reaction.
Gokus only chance to hurt supes would be his ki attacks, and after the rebirth comics it's pretty clear that Superman would tank them without too much of a problem. Goku however wouldn't surive a punch from a 20% serious Superman, as he is only durable through his ki, as seen with the Bullet hurting him, and mostly against energy attacks. The physical nature of Supermans punch and his strength, which is magnitudes above gokus, would end Goku with one simple flick of Supes finger.

Pretty sure, plenty of posters told you were wrong in you're assessment of that fight.
It's even been put out multiple times to you, that the suit absorb the energy fires at it, and redirects it back at the opponent.
Hell, the ending of that comic even went further by having Slade explaining to Waller that if Kal wanted him dead, he would have been. It's just not in him to kill.
Story went further to say, even when Kal is enraged and out of his mind, he subconsciously hold back.
