The Green Inferno (2013)

From Eli Roth. I've never really seen any of his movies I don't think, but this one looks intriguing to me because I've actually been to the Amazon river in Peru and met some of the indigenous people there. This also makes me think of Mel Gibson's Apocalypto a little bit, and I really enjoyed the setting in that film. This was supposed to come out last year, but it had some financial issues, I think. And I think it sparked some controversy because of stereotyping these sorts of tribes unfairly; not sure if that had anything to do with why the release has been delayed until this September, though.

Anyway, there's a bunch of trailers for this it looks like, but I just picked one that didn't show very much...

YouTube video

Just seems like a wannabe Cannibal Holocaust IMO

shall pass... unless someone confirms this has good nudity and violence lol

I've been wanting to see this for a looong time.

Seems similar to Cannibal Holocaust

Another Fugging Found Footage Squeasy Cam? No thanks.

^

That's why you watch them on the tv and not at the cinema

especially after my experience with Cloverfield at the cinema.

I remember seeing Blairwitch in theaters.
Should have learned my lesson on that one.

IS this 'found footage'? I hope not.

The original Cannibal Holocaust was. Roth is a fan of the original, so I wouldn't be surprised if this was.

I saw a clip of this a couple weeks ago that wasn't very good. I think maybe I don't find Roth's "torture porn" style all that terrifying. Hitchcock he's not. And this is getting pretty poor reviews. I might just wait on this one.

You know, I saw Cloverfield at the cinema and it didn't bother me. I was far enough back, I think. But I'll tell you what was nauseating for me was Edge of Tomorrow in 3D at the cinema. I would never watch it in 3D again. It was decent otherwise.

Every time I watch a "found footage"'film all I can think is what idiot bothers holding a camera when their life is in danger?
Cloverfield was the worse.

^^ ha very true. The only movie that really had a legit reason to do that was Blair Witch Project. I think the girl explained why the guy before and herself was doing that.

This movie wasn't a found footage. There were elements of found footage like phone video but the whole movie isn't based on that.

devils pass and troll hunter were decent found footage movies.

I don't mind found footage movies as long as the story doesn't suffer because of it and the audience isn't kept from seeing everything we would see if it were a traditional movie.

Troll Hunter was good. From memory the director had enough sense to steady the camera with major of the filming & still have the genre of "found footage".

This movie stunk.

In other words go and see the movie.

lol.
